Never Trust The PMG With Your Mail

Hello All

Dear Mr Rbar (Steve),

I have finally added you to my mailing list, unfortunally when I signed up baCK IN 2007; I had a setting that only certified people can PM me; I would really love to know how to change it becuase it inhibiting the publicness of Queensland Government Railways. The state government must be cost cutting....typical gimme pigs :hehe: .

I tried to PM you but apperently you've blocked people from PMing:hehe:  I was wondering if there was a website or something I could veiw it from?

Dear D9007_Pinza;
No worries mate. Unfortunately the ELXs aren't on the DLS. They're a beta by Zec that have been given to only a select few. I've got an VR E wagonmesh I made for Gmax that I've been fiddling around with, but it's given way to a more high priority project, proper NSWGR timber and gravel platforms.
Is there any chance of doing a QGR Version of those platforms; due those type of platforms are typical of on many Queensland lines.

Well; Forrest Runner. Impressive again??...Your make a name for yourself, I used to trainspotter the W44 in my travels in NSW; boy that was fun driving around chasing that thing in a beat up FJ Holden...Ah those were the days . I have got to start the Main Southern Railway which could elcipse Patchy's Kingaroy...here at QGR Bigger Is Better.:p

Lastly; after answering so much questions (This sounds like my class); Patchy; Keep up the supurb effort, I think I could send you the QR SEK 490 and offically open the line to traffic becuase it so good. I think you missed the Iron bridge over Wide Bay Creek (1st Crossing) becuase I have a old picture of C17 992 with ARHS tour train. Email me and I will forward the picture.

To the QGR Commisioner's desk

G'day Michael,
I am honoured by your request and would be quite happy to do a version of these platforms for QGR, however I will need the following information:
- Dimensions of the various timbers used to construct the platform
- Height of the vertical piles
- Dimensions of the gravel embankment on the road side of the platform
- Distance between the top of the gravel embankment and the back of the timber platform face.
- Spacing of the piles

Now for a quick render showing the different platform sections I've created brought together as a single platform.

You need to be approved for membership first. If you apply for membership it can be approved pretty quickly if one of the two moderators is about. lol.

Evan - thanks for the information mate. I am pleased to hear it's a prviate beta, as that means that it is nearly complete and in the process of being de-bugged before release. Looking forward to it, I see plenty of ex VR rolling stock haunting this state, some still in service today!

Some quick shots from my current route, Cooma Monaro Railway. It is loosely based on the line from Canberra/Queanbeyan to Batlow, via Cooma and Michelago.

The route is also based in the 60's/70's when small 48 and 45 class Alcos still trundled along the line with mixed goods trains.

Batlow? Is there some secret route we don't know about? :hehe: You seem to have your railway geography a tad mixed here. To allow those less familiar with the NSWGR's geography, here is a site which explains the full route in a good level of detail: http://nswrail.net/lines/show.php?name=NSW:bombala. The route is one which I find very interesting and captivating (must have something to do with me being born in Cooma less than a month after the last train). Please do keeps us posted I'll be watching this route's progress closely.
I'm assuming the station in your screenshots is representing Cooma?

Ghosty... awesome stuff. It's good to see some "correctly gauged" C17's too... of course with thanks to the contributors you listed.

Ronayne... Cooma in-progress is looking real good!! One suggestion... which is meant to be constructive rather than critique... I reckon switch out that engine shed and replace it with Natvanders 2 road loco shed. Might need tweaking of the second loco road, but it would look more the part. Again, just a suggestion.
