Muliebuck; great screenshots, as always. I have several of your routes, and look to them as a measure of what can be acheived with a little time (of which i have plenty) and patience (which, sadly, i lack.)
One question for you though, if i may? How much, if any, planning is involved with these routes? They are only small works, so getting the basic shape/feel fleshed out wouldn't take to much effort, i would imagine.
So, what i would like to know is: how do you decide on the yard structure; how many tracks to lay down; what servicing facilities to include, etc; are they based on real locations or do you lay down tracks as you go, until you get something that feels right, and looks conceivable in real life?
Feel free to answer/ignore as you see fit. If anybody else would like to comment, please do so. I would like some insight into the design process that various surveyors take when starting a project.
