As an ode to davido, I have created a session for my route called "Tuscan Sunrise" it will incorporate alot of David's content as well as The Bigman's stuff.
I have just wasted all morning running the session. lol!!!
Tuscan Sunrise will be available when I release the route. I'll be asking for a couple of beta testers very "SOON"tm

Hey Ozzie Trainzerz!!

This may seem like a stupid question, but, how do I get the signals in yards and stuff to work?? And, what VR, SAR, and NSWGR or NSW content is in production. I am always looking for more content for my 1970s route. I will aslo be including content that was used in the 1960s as well, since they played a big part in AUS rail history.

Thanks, SARRailways :)

Great news, Jan! Lovely work.

On another note, I've finally managed to get back into Trainz stuff. I've been a bit sick lately, so I have nothing better to do than work on my old Trainz content.

First thing I'm doing is finishing the DD17. The cab is now finished, textures revamped with ambient occlusion and bump maps, and variations for all of the preserved DDs with all liveries (done) and a generic QR version with working running boards. Again, the QR version has the baby blue colour as well as the darker blueish green that was also used. Not sure if they were ever in black, but have also done a black texture. About bloody time! Last I worked on them must have been a year ago!

All that needs doing is the enginespec and some '09/'10 sounds. Will release a version for 04/06.

I've also finished a new coalman model which actually looks uh... Real. Model and textures are finished, but I'll probably pinch the animations from the Auran coalman. He looks like the typically slightly overweight fireman.

More news:

I've finally dug up my Zig Zag railway route, and am working on it again. This will only be for '10, as I'll be using the layer function to simulate different periods of the Zig Zag. I'll certainly be using Jan's trees for it. Slowly revamping assets with bump maps, LOD and such, as well as a high res texture pack to use.

I'll be posting some screens of all of this shortly :)

An un-identified 422 accompanies a 44 class class at the head of an Express Passenger train, passing 4803 and 3 sister units as they idle awaiting their train to be loaded.

4819 prepares to take a loaded stock train to the abbatoir, first having to run-around the train in a nearby loop.

Whats the difference??

Hi Trainzerz :)

I have just upgraded to TRS2009 from TRS2006 since that one wouldnt work, and, am wondering, is TRS2010 going to put TRS2009 out of place you know what I mean?? I know that there are some good content for TRS2010 that should be made avaliable for TRS2009, but, do we ALL have to switch?? I dont want to be left alone again like I was with TRS2006 :( And, does anybody know of the double ended AN 930 and SA Stone Hoppers in ANR, AN ,and some other livery that Nick has made on the VicTrainz Forums to be made avaliable for TRS2009??

Thanks, SARRailways :)

SARRailways, I did not build the double ended 930. That was uncle rob. I was mearly a beta tester. The stone hoppers still aren't available, as I am not happy with them.

NSWGR 800/900 sets

Davido,

I just tested the 800/900 set that you recently released, however, it seemed to spark a few errors... one said "Runtime Error!" which caused Trainz to crash... any suggestions?

Sorry, I can't remember what the other errors said and I haven't been back into Trainz since.

Thanks!
Mitch

P.S. All your recently released models are wonderful, by the way (including the problematic railmotors!!).

Zec,

Is that a small problem with the wheel treads on the 3rd driver of your A2?

Bill.
Yeah Bill. I've not had time to look at it properly, but it's a texture issue somewhere.

Hopefully I can fix it before the Healesville exhibition in two weeks time :) :)

blah blah 86 class screenshot and stuff

Pete - looking spectacular! Will be nice to have electric trains plying the rails again :). As far as that tuscan passenger car looks - well, I've seen enough heritage trains to know that yours fits the bill nicely!

blah blah CQBY screenshot blah blah

Matt - looking better than the ones I see in real life!

I see while I was away from the forums (I fall off the topic reply notification list every so often for some reason, and because I don't get the e-mail, I don't think to check the thread) that Davido has done the sneaky and released some new models. As if I didn't have enough free time as it was, now I have to download them and try them out. Ah, lifes tough!

As they say, patience is a virtue, and when it rains, it pours. Both seem to be true at the moment :).

As for the recent discussion on things that do not run on rails - I think scenery is as, if not more important than the trains itself. We have an abundance of quality rolling stock out there, with more and more being made each day. The problem is, is that there are few content creators working on scenery, so many of us have gotten so used to putting up with the usual "same old same old" default Auran scenery, that we don't think to comment when we see something new. Is it wrong? Yeah, it probably is. I usually remain a lurker here, as my efforts pale in comparison to some other screenshot creators here, and so I don't usually go to the effort of taking and uploading screenshots.

That said, I get a huge amount of enjoyment when I have new scenery items to make my routes look better (I usually use all the help I can get). The trees showcased recently in this thread all look great, and I am hoping to obtain all of them (both the payware and freeware trees on show).

Oh, for the record? I love the trees made by Boobless ed - not simply because they are superior to the trees included by Auran, but because they look really nice when they flash past the train. I put a lot of effort into my scenery, and then don't even pay attention when racing past in the cab, but I love those trees. Whenever I have to install a new version of TRS, that is one of the first things I seek out and download.

YMMV however.

I look forward to installing my TRS2010 that I have sitting next to the computer. Sadly, this computer is probably nearly 5 years old, if not older, and TRS09 is pushing it. This year, a new desktop! Just need to squirrel away some pennies first....
