Dreddman, are those wheels on the BB correct? They look awfully small. Might just e the angle of that pic.
Thanks Mitchey, Scottling & Ausrail8040.
Scottling, I've been working on this since I got TRS06 (sometime in 2006) & only have Northgate-Caboolture to go.
As I work for QR, I am unable to share this route. Remember when a guy came onto this forum a while ago boldly proclaiming he was now a railway employee & was offering to share QR info to anyone who asked? You may also remember I told him where he'll end up if he did that - not in QR. I'm sure Lenice will agree with me on that one. If you travel on the train, you can see the same stuff that everyone sees and put it into your routes, that's all I've done. As anyone who has built a prototypical route will tell you, it takes a keen eye, a good memory... and Google Earth.
I'm not telling you where to go, just explaining how it is. I've started to put up these screenies because I'm proud of my efforts to date and people seem to like them (thanks guys). If you don't like them, so what? Also, as a tribute to all of the creators who created the content, to show them that it is used and appreciated. Also, I have learnt a lot of building techniques by seeing others' screenies and if someone learns something from mine, their Trainz experience will be more realistic. That's what this forum's all about after all.
PS Scottling, I DO so have Sonne03's brilliant catenary in places, that cab view Mitchey refered to has some of it lit up by the headlight, hehehe. It's just that rewiring hundreds of km's of line already built is a hell of a job and unless it's needed, I couldn't be stuffed. Hopefully there'll be some spleens coming along:wave:
Don't worry about time required for building your route - it will happen, and if you don't feel like building for a while, stop. You're not getting paid for it, it's a hobby.
Thanks for the kind words all.
Ryan
Sorry to raise an old topic, I'd just like to clear my name (and get my thoughts known) being the "guy who would give QR info to anyone who asked".
I just want it known that I'd "see what I can do" (as was in the original thread I started), with every intention of clearing the disclosure with appropriate management and/or HR etc etc as required. Being a mechanical engineer, I've dealt with a few queries from the public on various matters, including information that, personally, doubted would be disclosed when in fact it was.
QR are, to my surprise, quite often happy to keep the railfans happy, to a certain extent, and I see this as QR extending respect to all railfans. Of course, there are the cowboys who'll put their lives in danger in order to get the moneyshot, and these are the ones I worry about... not because they're obsessive, we just don't want them putting their health and more worryingly, lives at risk. As long as you're pursuing what you want through appropriate channels and everything is kept above-board, everyone, I woudl imagine, would be happy.
QR does, as any organisation who undertakes major projects, have IP policies in place to prevent sensitive information from being disclosed, and I had absolutely no intention of breaching these, at least without appropriate approval.
There, a big weight lifted. Thanks for listening.
Hey Ryan, I hate to ask, but is this available, or one of your own creations that you can't release?Thank you for the compliment Commissioner. Just quietly, it was an as built 1720 on the point.
Anyway, here's an EMU departing Domestic Station for Roma St early one evening
