May be this post should be in another part of the forum, but oh well :hehe:
I only saw the end bit of this on TV last night, but they spoke of a type of "Pay" Train that NSW Railways would send around rural NSW with employees pays. In what I saw some people have restored one, they may have been TAFE students. These "Carriages/Traincar/whatever" looked like only one carriage with a driver and some were for the "Paymaster" and others to sit as they traveled around paying employees. The "Carriage" was taken out of service once pays where deposited into bank accounts.
They also said that these Carriages had been held up as well over the many years they where used, one was even blown up![]()
Anyone know about this .... or what I am trying to talk about :hehe: . It looked like a really neat little carriage that could fit into many Aussie Layouts.

Thanks Enkidoh and you are right, I found that out last night from my neighbor who had also seen it on TV. He remember something similar when he worked on the South Australian Railways in the middle of nowhere. They would order what they needed, food etc, and then the similar Rail Pay Bus would turn up with their food and pay after deducting the cost of their purchases.Ah, I think I know what you're referring to.
It's called a Paybus, which looked like an odd little red and yellow mini-bus on train wheels.
I'm not sure if anyone has made one for Trainz, but it would indeed make an interesting piece on a Aussie-themed route.![]()
Thanks Anthony, now all we need is a very kind creator to think about making one. I may also be able to get more details from the PM I received.
where can you get that signel box?
That's a very old model![]()
