SAR 858 with a freight consist in the yard at Orroroo in the mid north of South Australia, early1980s, one of the final years of the lines operation.

The line, from Peterborough to Port Augusta via Quorn, was once part of the transcontinental link connecting Sydney to Perth but by 1970 it was an isolated narrow gauge line in a standard gauge network.

A few shots of the up Wahgunyah #40 Car Goods (goods train with carriage attached) to Springhurst, and then the same continuing as a regular goods to Wangaratta.
