Australian screenshots

G'day All,
Nice shots Baz, we don't often see cane trains screenshotted. Been a bit quiet here lately!
Not much more to do in Wangaratta and just finished the basics on Alumatta sidings.

Hi Greame,

If your a member of Victrainz try these Louvre Vans, their baked shadows will make them stand out a little better...

http://forum.victrainz.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2388

Their's, VLF (pre-63 code) VLX (post 63 code), VHX, VSX and U 4 Wheel Vans.

Cheers.

Nice shots Baz. I Live in FNQ you have captured the scenery beautifully:)

Cheers,
Patchy

Thanks Patchy, I hope he doesn't mind but i'm using "old possums" Tablelands route. It has quite a few cane lines based around Cairns and i've brought it into Tane and added extra cane lines and modified the scenery. Not exactly DEM but i enjoy running the basic NG lines, and thanks to "narrowgauge" and willem2 for the locos and rolling stock.
Cheers mate,
Baz.

Thank you shout out To DavidO (David Owens) just noticed you put your NSW Catenay items on the DLS - helps people doing NSW sparky routes immensely.

Once again thank you

They've been on the DLS for some time, think he uploaded around the same time I did updates to some bogies, late September early October?.

Hey all,

Been 6 years now since I started work on this light lines locomotive, their was no plans/drawings, just a sketch and small photos, last year high res photos had started to emerge in books and on the internet, now I've been slowly getting it close to finish, just shows that with a lack of research it can take a very long time to get somewhere.

G'Day All,
Nice loco Azer, it's usually the ones that take the longest to produce give you the most satisfaction when they're done.
Patchy, I'd love to see Mt Isa updated for TANE. Some interesting scenery in the original.
Now that Wangaratta is done, I thought I would head north and build up Uranquinty before I tackle Glenrowan and Benalla. Took Cs6 GL105 and GL112 on an empty steel train for a run over the whole length of mainline in the late afternoon to see where any problems are with signalling and speed limits (found a few). Clocked up 185 kms end to end.

Some route diversions has seen all North East traffic divert via the Upfield line, seen here is a H5-H1 led Wodonga goods carrying its typical flour and oil loading.

Later, a T-T-T lead grain train passes through going the other way.

 Screenshots look great, and I like the Headlight intensity they show..........:mop:Your Terrain colors look so natural, if I can learn to get mine looking somewhat like yours that would be some accomplishment.

G'day All,
Thanks for the positive feedback guys. It's not easy to keep motivation levels up with a route this big, but your kind words certainly help.
Tom, Jamie and David, nice shots. Sure hope those nice looking T's will be available sometime soon.
Blue, in my case I have loaded every texture in my trainz install and checked to see if it is HD, if it is, it gets transferred to any of three picklists. (green, dry and transition) This gives me a palette of more than 150 textures to choose from and all in HD. On the DLS look for textures by Dave Snow, motorbreath, Hp Trainz and most built in ones start with (TS12) or similar. The DEM I am using has borders for farms which makes it easier to get a realistic looking map using a differnt texture for each. When it comes to trees, try to use a level of detail in placement of them. High detail speedtrees with good LOD (st_rmm trees) close to the tracks and transitioning to billboards further out. This is just how I do it, but it seems to work ok.
cheers,
Graeme

Hi James,
The update to Goulburn Murray is well under way but only at track laying stage at the moment. I have merged a DEM at Shepparton which goes to Mangalore where it will merge with my Seymour to Bethungra route. I am only about halfway on the Main South (185kms done) and its taken 5 months to get this far, so it'll probably be ready to go about the middle of next year hopefully.
cheers
Graeme

Hey all,

Built this as a personal project and I'm wondering if it'll be worth finishing and having as a DLS release? it's from 1984 through to 1992 era.

azervich_20161201_0001_zpsik6ewtre.jpg

from the early 90's they where put into Sleeper Discharge Traffic and where fitted with VWS containers, these wagons are still all over Victoria today, their's a few in North Melbourne, a few in Newport, I think the Daylesford group has one, Seymour may have one don't really know.

Cheers.
