Thanks Jamie, still haven't decided yet. I have even looked at merging Main South with Albury - Violet town, but that would be a huge undertaking at my skill level. Still learning and don't want to rush in to something and get bored with it. Melb - Bdale files work now they have been updated, so that's a possibility.
cheers,
Graeme

Tell ya what Graeme, the building selection in your route is marvelous. I have a pen and paper next to me jotting down the buildings you used for when I get to populating Geelong :Y:

If I can get it to line up it might be a goer, as it's got both gauges and is huge. No Maffra line on the Melb to Bdale and I'd have to merge that too, but in 3 places. I'll give merging Cootamundra to Violet town a crack and we'll see what happens.
cheers,
Graeme

Awesome work on your Goulburn lines mate, really good stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with a DEM :) As for Bairnsdale, dads currently working on Traralgon to Bairnsdale (via both Sale and Maffra) to go with the Bairnsdale to Orbost line (that part is pretty much complete). I'll put up a few screenies of what's completed so far when I get on the main PC (basically mainline to Stratford, Straty junction, parts of Sale and Maffra). Would be awesome if you could build the Melbourne to Traralgon part mate, then we'd have a really complete route! But as Jamie has said, any section of the North East would be good too (or maybe the Bendigo line?).

If you were planning on building it all the way to Melbourne, do let us know because I/others have several projects around it that could be merged for ease/extra running's sake. My Port Melbourne Line of the 40s and My modern geelong/Luke's frankston line come immediately to mind

Hi guys, thanks for the input for my next project. It seems a bit strange but awesome too, seeing someone elses screenshots on a route that I made. The merge north of Albury is definitely a goer and can do it one of two ways, trim off a 10 to 30 metre cliff where only the track lines up perfectly or the preferred option is insert one row of baseboards and freehand the gap as it would finish up neater. After reading Bob Coopers tutorial on his Cornish route it is definitely doable. I haven't had much of a look at the Melb- Bdale DEMs but Traralgon is in the middle of the 3rd file which runs from Warragul to Sale. Who knows, I might have a crack at both, if I get bored with one I can work on the other.
Thanks for the Albury yard Jamie, I'll download it and check it out in the morning.
cheers,
Graeme.

Hey Jamie,

I'm pretty sure the yard is a few more meters from the station, it's also on a slightly lower elevation too :)

Cheers.

Hey Azza,

I was actually getting really thrown around by the curves of this area, so I grabbed a nearmaps overlay of the area and made it a basemap. (Tutorial for anyone interested)

You're right, the yard is further away at the down end of the platform, but the station comes closer towards the up end

Thanks, I'm looking at doing a HD remake and adding Albury to Violet town upgraded for TANE. Already got the DEM sorted and under way with a head start on trackwork at the border. I'm also doing Traralgon to somewhere near Melbourne as an alternative route, for that one sooner or later we will need an English Electric L class loco or three. Just hope someone can model the dent I put in L1156 from hitting a car at Tramway Road in Morwell.
cheers,
Graeme.

Hi Graeme
That is a fantastic looking route, I haven't had time to drive through yet, but the bits I have looked at are great. Thanks very much.
I agree with Jamie about the content you have used, the route includes stuff I havnt yet seen or tried.
You guys are certainly providing some awesome screenshots showing the graphics of TANE. I hope to have some progress shots of my Southlines update for you this weekend.

Great work everyone!

A bit of a progress shot of the RL class from Gmax. Texturing pretty much done, not too far from being in game now :)!

Keep up the great work everyone!

For anyone interested in the North East, this is my 'next' project (alongside some improvements to Healesville, and possibly 'forward dating' it to a 1930s/40s route :) ). I currently have a DEM covering Violet Town to Albury (actually a couple of km north of Albury), and the branch to Cudgewa. My 'start' is actually Shelley on the Cudgewa branch, working toward the terminus, then back toward Violet Town. My aim here was to cover any service running NE that a Benalla crew/loco could run, plus the Cudgewa branch :)

But, that being said, my aim was to base the route in the 1930s/40s/50s, so as to allow a variety of VR steam to operate, but prior to the gauge going through.

For Mildura, my suggestion was based of a quick read through one of Nick Anchen's books, where a driver noted that he ran trains through to Donald. Wasn't sure how common that was though :)

Zec
