On that topic though, 268's experimental Westrail livery also had a precursor where the dark blue was mostly substituted for white on the main hood and nose of the locomotive - needless to say the bureaucrats at East Perth Terminal quickly realized that it would be an absolute nightmare to keep clean so 268 was never known to have actually hit the track in it (I've only ever seen a single photograph of it in an old issue of Motive Power magazine in this particular livery variation (all white with dark blue, black and orange bands), and the magazine noted that was only believed to have carried it for less than three months, before the white was substituted for the dark blue.
