Australian screenshots

I believe I'm the fool who is responsible for that slight error there Bill, it appears that the alpha should have been a .bmp file and not a .tga, this is what I think causes that glitch of taking out certain meshes that use .bmp files as one see's through it.

We'll just have to leave it with the contruction/repair crew in your image for now.

:o
Not a problem Marty the crew is working at it now.

Cheers

Bill

I haven't posted anything on the Hamilton line lately. So here's N453 shunting a BE carriage at the end of the line stop, Aldwater. (Backdrop not yet incorporated.)

I hate placing containers :P.

Sorry about the lack of texture/scenery, just wanted to show you what a couple of containers can do to a yard.

Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting

The new layout already has an AI capable flour mill, which in turn produces 20ft containers. The container yard also accepts empty 20ft containers. I've run the AI through the flour mill, and it runs around it's train properly and everything, and then departs.

The Container yard will be harder to make AI compliant as it uses the LARS PT system, which means it takes over an hour to load a whole train. I'll try and work the AI into dropping container rakes off and picking them up, but I don't think I'll be able to convince it to dump 'em, run around 'em, wait for 'em to load, and then leave. Maybe, I won't rule it out.

Next time you see it, it should have some texture and some more scenery.

Hey Raichase, you have some interesting looking wagons there. I like your container flats, they look a little like our (NZ) Uk wagons. Are they and the NOD/NOCY looking wagons available to the general public by any chance?:o

JAMEZ100 the only problem I had with that coaling structure was that most of my NSWGR locos wouldn't fit under it! I hope you're not scratching the paint on the old En's cab roof! :hehe:

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words Tom. Hope to get some texture done after work today!

They are indeed - all of them are built into Trainz2006, under the rest of the NSW content :)

Pete (ad602000) also has another couple of wagons in the works of the same/similar model (ie NODY, etc) that will also haul the "AUS 20ft" containers, although his also have "Freightcorp" badges, which make adding them to a consist good for variety.

As that consist is an ARG consist though, it's mostly ex SRA stock. Wouldn't mind some CFCLA flats to use on some trains though :P.

Aldwater is still heavily under construction. I've just been playing around with unusual structures that I rarely use. You may also notice that the turntable is the 'Branchline' version, only 14m long. The biggest loco you can fit on it is the NSWGR 19 Class.

But like I said, it's still in development. The coaling facility is not so likely to stay.

Natvander: I've been playing around with track laying methods, and I came across a method that has a similar finished product to your style. I'm just wondering if you use FT Turnout's and 5.28m Spacers on junctions and yards as the original template?

Thanks Davido. It worked. :D

One more question, maybe Natvander can answer this one best(?):

Does anyone know where I can find detailed track plans of stations along the NSW South Coast Line (Illawara Line)? Particularly Bomaderry (Nowra), Kiama and Bombo.
I think I should have been following this thread from the start, now I have 40 plus pages to read :hehe: . Looks like I have some reading to do in my spare time.

I would have seen the progress of pete's work as well and known more about the wagons he has let me view and play with :hehe:

The above quote from Jamez though struck my interest (particularly as I live on the Far South Coast of NSW), I think I still have somewhere track plans for Bomaderry but I am not sure about other stations. These I got from DeRiCo some time ago. Jamez I am not sure of your interest in this area, as I said I have not been following this thread, but if you let me know I may have something more to help you with ....... a nice little surprise I think :hehe: :hehe:

EDIT: I just had a look at what I have. Back in the days of the CityRail project I was interested in do the line from Waterfall to Nowra, well it looks like I have all the Station Diagrams for this line except Nowra/Bomaderry (But I have seen it so it, so it is somewhere). I was just having another look and I do have Bombo, Kiama and many others. Plus I have Altitude and gradient diagrams for the whole line. Let me know if any of this is of interest to anyone. If I do not have Nowra/Bomaderry I know that DeRiCo will have it. Also these Station maps cover different periods/years so you can for example have all 1940's maps, or some prior and some more modern ones.

THAT WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLE HELP!

Thank you so much. :D

As for my interest in the area... my uncle lives just outside of Nowra. A few years back I stayed with them for a month and had the pleasure of being able to see a lot of ARG Manildra work at Bomaderry. Until then I had very little interest in modern railways, but seeing 3000hp loco's shunting only 5 metres away gives you a bit of motivation, especially when you feel the earth rumble beneath your feet as they crawl by you. :)

What details do you want me to give you for further contact on those track plans?

MSN, email, mailing address?

Hi James, first thing would be to email me viz here and that will then give me your email address. Plus include somemore details of what you are after, how much of that area do you want the stations for? Are you planing a layout for the area ? That sort of thing in the email and then I will try and get things together for you, after that we can worry about forwarding everything to you. If you want to contact me via MSN as well then that is fine but I quite often hide behind the "Busy" setting:hehe: , you may get a quick reply or not :hehe: (I am going out soon for a few hours as well).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Raichase: Try searching for "LP xing generic" it changes both road and rails to the type connecting to it.

A D59 hauls a rather larger wheatie with the unusual inclusion of two BCW's due to lack of cattle sales during the drought.

Two match-trucks are included in the form of steel S wagons.
One being for compatibility issues between the buffered BCW's and the bufferless RU's
The other being included incase a hook and loop equipped loco is rostered to haul the auto-coupler dominent train.

JAMEZ001, thanks for the tip, I'll have a look. I assume it still stops the automatic traffic on the road?

flathog, quality stuff as always.

However, I've lost all my traffic. Seems the morning passenger service ran earlier, and the cement isn't due for a bit.
