From The Commissioners Desk.
I must also point out for the sake of originality that the textures are a little too dark. Also Michael now your using 3dsMax I suggest you check out baking!
Gentlemen,
In my response, I wish to point out that you are both incorrect on those points and I am going to take the time to make the following corrections;
Firstly, the colour shade of 'Brunswick Green' is actually rather correct from photographs of my own plus archival images that I have colour sampled and according to my Queensland Railways 1958 - Railway Workshops Paint Schemes for Locomotives, Carriages & Rollingstock. It is the lighting in locations that make it looks darker.
Secondly, to the issue raised of white tyres rims around the wheels. The matter is incorrect to assume that all locomotives of the BB18 got them, as from my images which I shall link below; depict differently from my research. As stated in John Armstrong's Locomotives In The Tropics Volume 2 & John Knowles - Design & Operation of Queensland Railways Steam Locomotives 1865-1969; Only Locomotives based out of Ipswich Depot received white walled rims around the edge of the bogies and by the Railway Workshops when a passenger locomotive had come out of it annual overhaul. Commissioners Locomotives, engines rostered on railway picnics publicity and railway tour specials were selected for the treatment. It was only after Diesel Day 1970 that locomotives still in traffic that were based at Ipswich were given the treatment. Other than that, locomotives in general service outside of the SED lacked white walled tires.
The locomotive depicted by myself in the model - BB18 1012, Commissioning Photograph by the Queensland Railways.

The last image is representative of the locomotive and all my other engines when in regular service in the Central Division. This engine lacks white walled tires, as it was not based at Ipswich or Mayne or even in the Central Division. As I am building locomotives that featured in the Central Division as part of my route, I shall be making them when in service from photographs I have collected or are in the RHQ Archive.
Anyways, some general comments. Yes I shall be baking when I start on my AC16, then apply to all my other locomotives in good time. I have a life outside of trainz and since I am still unpacking my objects from moving interstate. It may take some time.
The point that why do I make locomotives or content that have already been done. The person who made this comment, as already been told by the mod but I wish to make my comment clear. I build because I make content for myself and my route, if a locomotive that has already been built; I shall go about making it better with higher details, in narrow gauge and features like destination boards ect. I have permission from such creators to remake the engines, as they have since left trainz. I am building models from Trainz 12 to TANE that have either no-one has built in narrow gauge, has been build to a previous version to putting my higher standard to be placed in narrow gauge and enjoying things for myself.
