Hi and a Happy New Year to everyone. Just to prove my doctors wrong, I am still alive and kicking, albeit I am only running on 3 cylinders. It is time then for me to release the SAR Bluebird RDCs, which I had long ago created for TRS04/06.

Better late than never I thought, now upgraded with 4 LODs, normal mapping, new, improved bogies, auto running numbers which include, I assume a first here, to change the unique names these SAR Bluebird RDCs have had while changing their numbers WITHOUT extra scripting. Plus passengers enabled with auto opening doors when stopping on passengers enabled railway stations and Driver change to direction traveled plus ditch lights enabled (yes I know, no ditch lights in those days but hey... looking good with these).

These SAR Bluebird RDCs were first build in the late 1950s at the Adelaide SAR islington facilities and were used up to the late 1980s as such and later a few units still served for VLine. Some of these units are presently or in the immediate past still serving as crewcars for FreightLink, SCT, Ghan, Indian Pacific, Overland, Pacific Nationals and others.

Just click te thumbnail pics below to get the bigger picture.

The motorized 250 Class:

the non motorized 100 Class:

the freight only 280 Class:

and their unique bird names on the 100 and 250 Classes, a sample here:

These units will be released end of February with the release of T:ANE as I still have to finish these SAR Bluebirds with alternative paint jobs including, crewcars of FreightLink, SCT and Pacific National and possibly a VLine paint scheme.

Just in case anyone will be asking, NO, NO and NO and NEVER again will any by me created new locomotives released here (beside these above as I had these already created for TRS04/06) and in case you would like to know WHY NOT, just ask Zec Murphy (the very "fair" and "impartial" Mod here), he might tell you why.

Cheers and drink responsibly tonight.

Vinny, great to see you're still kicking and your Bluebirds will finally see the light of day. I've recently gotten back into the Trainz world and messing around with a SAR themed route (again) and those Bluebirds will make a fine addition. Thank you for putting such detail into them.

No worries Jason, I don't think a detailed blueprint or drawings exist for concrete sleeper tracks for any state of Australia. However, I was able to acquire (after hours googling) of a drawing for a wide range of concrete sleepers that are used globally. It appears that I've modeled the wrong ones according to my NSW high density concrete version, so I'm currently in the process of redoing them. Qld now uses the same type of rail fastenings, with a bit of research they are known as pandrol fast clips.

When I'm satisfied with the end product, they'll be made available in 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1/2 in) & 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in).

Cheers,

Marty

Where can I get this high detailed 1067mm track? I really like it :D

TANE Question

Hi All,

Happy New Year.

Just wondering if anyone is able to run profig trees in TANE as mine appear invisible.

Also if the final version of TANE will allow profig trees in.

Beaudesert Branch is coming along well, just about to go of to the beta testers

-Cheers

As I can't download TANE:CE as the download keeps dropping out, I'll stay in Trainz 2 for now, and wait for the game to come on disc whenever that maybe.

QR National 5020s head a loaded coal, after just passing Moss Vale.

Nice Bluebirds, but I think you'll find the personal attacks, rude language and questioning the mods decision is the reason you received the silent treatment for a while, rather than any favourites.

Leave it out now, it's getting tiring and is technically still against the CoC

on a more positive note: TANE looks ridiculously good
