Hi Petan,

Is there one available for NSW? I'm only using normal google Maps and it's hard to look at sometimes.

Found the Victorian Government's version of mapping data courtesy John Cleverdon and The Light Railway Research Society of Australia Inc [LRRSA] yahoogroup http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/LRRSA/ and their Light Railways magazine available at many newsagents http://www.lrrsa.org.au/Lrr_LRi.html

The Vicmap digital mapping data is now available for free at http://services.land.vic.gov.au/landchannel/content/productCatalogue in various CAD or GIS formats, as part of the government's policy to increase data access.
More info is at: http://services.land.vic.gov.au/landchannel/content/help?name=vicmapdatagettingstarted
You will still need to set up a free account to access/obtain the data.

At this stage it seems you can only get the data by locality (suburb/town) - these are smaller areas; these boundaries can be found on the online interactive Vicmap maps (http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/about-depi/interactive-maps) or in the Melway / RACV/VicRoads Country Street Directory (town maps only) / Vicmap books.

nah you can get satelite images, just like google maps

Sorry, no "Where is" satellite images for the Boonah/ Fassifern line south of the Cunningham Highway region just south of Ipswich. Lots around Brisbane but not in the area of Ron's main route needs.

While I have peoples' attention; some extra goodies for QLD routes and rollingstock are available. I know a very large number of QLD route builders already use QR engineering documents including plans for routes, locos, rollingstock and structures etc, so these might help. I know Ghosty made a special trip to Brisbane from Coffs Harbour last week to add to his already extensive collection of QR engineering plans. The extra set from me are dated 1950 and include data such as the type of sheds, loading banks, stock yards, turntables, cranes etc etc and details at http://www.wheelsonsteel.com.au/showthread.php?tid=6667

I have supplied other QLD data recently. The QR station list and distances from Pugh's Almanac 1925, 1892 and 1890 http://www.wheelsonsteel.com.au/showthread.php?tid=6651

G'day!

All of a sudden, I cannot post screenshots, smileys or even links. Spell check seems to work and it never has done before. Letters also appear to skip sometimes. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Cheers!

Jake.

This is a scene many of us would like to see one day, all 3 surviving pigs, 3642, 3609 and 3616 lined up, in steam, standing proud.
