Australian screenshots

What is it you can not d/load? Is it the locomotive mesh itself (<KUID2:184151:105601:1>) or is it any of the dependencies? I just d/loaded all without any hassles, so have at this morning 237 others. Perhaps you give it another try?

Cheers

Hi Herbert,

Awesome work (as usual) on the G class I have downloaded them all however I seem to be having a missing dependency with the Freight Australia version.

Unknown Location: <kuid2:184151:115502:1>

Cheers,

Matt

By the way -

Pete - Awesome work on the 43 class!

Electro - The 43's never had their buffers removed when in revenue service!

Hi Pete,

I downloaded the A's into TS12 using CMP, the screenshot shows it as the early A, when I placed it on route it was the Modern A :(
Also it has no running numbers as can be seen in the screenshot.

Cheers.

Can you please post here or send me the kuid of the A your using
its a real easy fix if you know how to edit configs re name the alpha number folder so it reads _alpha_numbers
or try using kuid 73150:100650

Hello vinnybarb and matruck

While you are both contributors to the Trainz Community, if you want to tussle, please take it outside. Just so you will know, both of you had posts moved, but not by me.

For the past nine years, I've always tried to be fair. I never play favorites, but as I said before, I didn't take admin action on any of these posts. Just sayin', trying to keep things friendly and constructive here.

Hi Matt, thank you for your nice comments, I made a blue with <kuid2:184151:115502:1>, this is a rear bogey (slightly different) but as the G Class uses the same bogey front and rear, only one bogey---> <kuid2:184151:115501:1> was required. Easy fix, in Content Manager, delete this bottom line of the config.txt in the kuid table on the end of the text:

6 <kuid2:184151:115502:1>

That will get rid of the error. Sorry, even the best can make mistakes sometimes :hehe:.

For others, who might still contemplate d/loading the Freight Australia G Class, I uploaded a "dummy" Kuid this morning, already approved, only a few kbs small with that KUID number: <kuid2:184151:115502:1>, so if d/loading that locomotive, that extra "dummy" Kuid will be d/loaded too with CM and hey presto, no more error message anymore. That hopeful will be from tomorrow on the DLS. Saves me uploading the whole G Class caboodle again. Only the Freight Australia G Class is/was affected with that error, the others are OK.

Cheers

Herbert

Good Evening All

THIS ENDS HERE. There is absolutely no reason to make personal attacks over this.

@Vinnybarb
You specifically told a member to study your screenshot, and they gave comments on the methods you told them to 'study'. They gave honest, and accurate, comments that what you are saying isn't possible is, in fact, possible with appropriate textures. Both methods are equally viable (although we don't recommend using an overlay unless absolutely necessary, such as for alpha numbers), and if the textures are created properly it IS possible to put a logo through a textured grill or similar simply by editing the texture.

There is absolutely no reason to attack a member suggesting you use a different method, especially when you actually told them to "study" the method you have used.

@Matruck

Hi Vinny,

The G is very nice, however when I first put it on the route and released the brakes I noticed it kept charging 'lol #4 brake valve' and burst the brake pipe, after restarting the session I also noticed that the equalizing res charges way to quick and also discharges too quick and need to be very fast with the keyboard, other than that I seem to be struggling with a 1400ton ballast train on a 1in115 - 1in100 grade when the G's can pull 4300tons on a 1in100, the load I have in screenshot is what a T Class can pull on a 1in100.

Hi NSWGR_46,

the tag fonts-path was missing from the A.

As said in the G Classes CDP's description in CM, there are several other engine specs from me available on the DLS. Try one or the other, one will possibly suit you. I had these G Classes beta tested, none of the testers reported any of this, probably as they knew, it is easy to change these engine specs. As I was busy continuing with creating the early G/BL Classes, hence I had asked for beta testers.

Or even try any other engine specs that is appropriate for this engine type:

Original: EMD 16-645E3B
Rebuilt: EMD 16-645F3B

AURAN's Rob (user ID 523) for example would/could have some appropriate engine specs on the DLS.

Hi Vinny,

Didn't read description, and about beta testers, most only ask to be a tester so they can get an early release of the loco, I also wouldn't of noticed the brakes if I didn't buy all these VR books of ebay about locomotives such as power ratings, brake systems and loads table on what can be pulled, I was working on a G Class bogey and G Class e-spec earlier this year for Petes 'AD602000' G's that where over on Victrainz, I can continue working on the e-spec and send it to you once it's done, it's based on the first series G's though.

Another thing I found interesting in one of those books is it says when VR-V/Line locomotives are in Multi-Unit all compressors kick in and out at the same time, trainz doesn't do this though, the first loco charges to full main res first, then second loco then 3rd :(

I was told by someone that SAR use 825kpa main res and when in consist with a VR-V/Line loco which cut out at 800kpa caused wear on the SAR locos as there compressors just kept running, lol.

Cheers.

When I was testing it/using it, I used the VR C class enginespec, JR Engine sounds and Mussels412's G hornsound on the DLS

I would be very interested to see the e-specs when you are done. I still need a month or more for the other early versions to create, depending if I start playing games again.

Is there any way to incorporate or simulate wheel slip in e-specs like the later versions of the VLine G classes had? Not being an expert in such things, I had to ask.

Cheers
