hey Pete.
i had that problem too. i backed up all the stuff to a backup 1gb drive, then when i needed soemthing
i found out that over one third never copied across.
i still havent found most from the dvds. just too many to check and not enough time

so much for windows 7 professional

its no better than ultimate, but i'm not buying win8

my mates reckon its even worse

i wish the old amiga interface was still availablke.
it would load whatever drivers it needed and then go to work

bummer:(:(

cheers

Fine I will change the picture. I didn't mean to use it for anything apart from my signature and plus, I didn't know that you needed permission so I don't see much harm done because I didn't delibratly not ask for permission. Oh and what exactly are you gonna do with the page .
LittleBondi, all you needed to do for the use of my picture was to acknowledge the source near where you placed the image. Check my message and you will see I did not ask you to remove it. The standard copyright procedure in use in Australian schools and universities is to acknowledge all references and sources. Check my past messages to see one version of that. If book give all details and if website give the name and URL. I saved a copy so I could compare when you fixed it.
A good example for references is what my wife did on her railwayarticle on the Logan River bridges http://www.petan.net/railway/southportC17.htm
Now that you have hairylegs in google earth you will realisewhy we have been suggesting that to you for quite some time. I hope you also check the other websites I have listed for you in the past as well as the railway history books in your Logan free public library. All free and will save you hours of work. EDIT the trainz website seems to be jamming words in this post together and I have had to edit several times to try and fix that. Sorry if seems jammed together.

I had one of them, Steve, it also packed up. Lucky I could get it replaced for free but it would have cost $150 to get all my stuff back :(
Funny you mention about the black caviar. Must have been a bad batch, I had the same problem a few months ago. Had a 2tb ordered from perth one went into my computer and the other in my dads. We stored our train photos that we take on them and mine was the first to start failing. It came to my attention when trying to download photos onto it and it was freezing and going very slow. Checked the event logs and there was bad sectors. I got a new portabable hard drive and copied everything across overnight as it too about 10 hours, luckily I did not loose anything. Dads did the same thing 2 weeks later. Got both replaced under warranty. Very unusual for western digital hard drives to have issues like that.

South Coast Coast Railway; From The Guards Van

Good Evening all.

Ouch, @Stevo; thats not good news to hear. I would be so shattered if my laptop of 7 years crashed on me. I have pretty much built my first proper trainz routes in 2009 and where I built my first content; which was PB15 444. Hopefully it can be resolved and your back in trainz. :D

I have been busy, I have accomplished texturing the entire QR South Coast Railway from Beenleigh to Tweed Heads, not to focus on roads and buildings. She is alest 5 years in the making, and hopefully soon she will be released. :)

For more information tune into my QR 1889 South Coast Railway thread on the fourms. Updates are comming soon. :)

Now some screenshots from the Guards van of QR BXV 458 on a run down to Southport as part of the 4KQ Picnic. One lucky day tripper scored a ride in the guards van from a friendly guard, and here is his shots so far.

{Trainz Model Notes; The BXV uses an invisible cab with attachement points for cab views.}

The Old Beenleigh Fiveways

This is where the 5 streets of Beenleigh intersected aswell as the old Pacific Motorway making it quite a dangerous level crossing that was involved with some accidents with cars and trains. This crossing was guided with a bell and flagman, with trains proceeding at a slow 10km/h

That's sad. know what it feels like. It hasn't happened to me but I have made a lot of things and if I am sleepy and working on it, I ussually accidently leave what ever it is that I am doing with out saving it.

I assure you, what I've had is nothing like that. You can look back at your history or find it one day and go "Oooh! I remember this!" but you don't get that satisfied discovery when its gone for good...

Help with roads please

Hi all,
Is there a road system (splines and intersections, T crossing etc.) that I can use for an Australian layout?

thanks,
Luke

G, Day all,

Been away from the forums for a while because I am currently placing trees and buildings on Michael's (Trainz89) QGR 1889 SCL line. it is quit a long but beautiful route. We have decided to join my QR Beaudesert Branch and his QGR SCL together and release them together. At the moment, We have swoped routes and worked on each others layout's. Michael, nice shot's there and I am glad there is nothing wrong with my PC. just a quick quistion. Are you going to place any roads were the white line's are?.

-Cheers

The white lines means the roads are there just your missing the content/asset for them or its broken on your computer.

I have actually downloaded the assists but I got in touch with Michael and he said it is one of these DEM map's. I am looking forward though to realeasing the 2 lines together.

Holla all,

I ave scrapped my QR Beaudesert Branch Line because it was hand made. So I have contacted Jerker to ask him for a DEM Map of the Qr Beaudesert Branch Line and I am still waiting on it. In the mean time I have decided to have a go at making train's. So, does anyone know of a great tutorila that they used to teach people how to make train's on either gmax or blender.

-Cheers
