Australian screenshots

By the way my CQGY and containers are now available on the DLS. :)
Great work Matt grabbing them all as we speak mate thanks again.
anyone know any good TankWagons lookalike for SCT Trains?
I've often thought about making them Jamie as they wouldn't be too hard to make as long as they stayed as a Non-Revenue wagon with the tanktainer's permanently attached to the wagon, They'd look pretty sweet behind VB's SCT Loco's i reckon.
Thank's for the explanation on ECP Braking Trent i always wanted to know what it meant exactly.
Cheers Mick.:)

Snip...The additional socket would likely be to connect the ECP braking system to the locomotive - ECP braking is used by the TT's and WH's (as well as being fitted to the UGL CEY Class) on the coal trains made up of ECP-fitted hoppers. Rather than applying the brakes with a straight brake pipe pressure reduction, they use a similar method to that used by passenger rolling stock - an electrical signal from the lead unit is relayed to each wagon/carriage of the train, which uses main res air to apply the brakes at the same time. This means that when you apply the brakes in the loco, the rear wagon gets the correct amount of braking effort at the same time as the lead wagon. This is better than making a reduction (especially on a long train) and waiting for it to take effect.

Hope that helps!...Unsnip

Would the rear of the WH unit have a similar socket? I presume it would be as how else are these locomotives hooked up together with this ECP braking system. Or does this apply only to the last trailing unit when leading with its number 2 end from which this ECP braking system is connected from/to? If this is so (socket on either end), this I guess would be on the same side of a unit as the front socket is mounted for easier connection?

*Edit: I found a couple of pictures where this ECP brake connector is shown on the B End on the left side looking at the end.

Cheers

Nice work there Tom! What are those yellow container wagons?

They would be a re-skin of cjlear's 80 foot container wagon originally available on the RBR website. On top of the PN version I've done an SCT and CFCLA version as well. Technically speaking they're not real, however they fit the job quite nicely in the mean time:

SCT found themselves a new shunter as well ;)

Also very nice work with that container wagon and all the Aussie containers Matt, just what we needed to go with these LDP's!
And thanks for that information Trent, I figured that's what it would be for. Never knew how ECP worked so thanks for the explanation!

Cheers,
Tom :)

DD 560 departs Koo Wee Rup with a goods on a cold wet evening.

Further along, we see the train at speed along the line between Koo Wee Rup and Dalmore.

Lesley, Good work on that shunter looks fantastic. It would be great use for my busy yards i don't want to task to locos.
On the topic of shunting heres a screenie of my layout that's a WIP. Features a fictional modern South coast theme.

833 moves two grain wagons away the freight wagon workshops.

Does anyone know where I can download those ABFX SCT vans? I've looked on DLS but couldn't find them.
Will reward any information with a screenshot. :)

Thanks

I dunno Dave, it appears Tom's look slightly different. He may have skinned a slightly different livery. I know some have thick red lines while others have no red lines. i'm not sure of any difference physically though.

Jamie

They look pretty similar to the ones i Re-skinned. Tom may have done his own ones.

I did my own ones as well when the SCT's came out, I never got around to finishing them though...

Still needs the roof to be completed and the numberboards. I use yours as well David to give some variety :)

By the way, the little yellow shunter is available on the DLS, as well as a similar version by Willem2 (including static and product versions).

Cheers,
Tom :)

Once again, another great Willem2; Queenslander creation.

If those have no clue where Callemondah are, its a big engine shed and shunting yard complex dedicated to QR Nationals Coal Contacts in Gladstone, Queensland.

Although it was built by Queensland Rail Limited, but it came under the conditions of the very unpopular spilt arrangment so it was sold to QR National. The rest is history as they say. :P

I found it's QR Callemondah Shed 2.... :hehe:
