Regarding the discussion concerning uploading to the DLS. There used to be a method where the creator hosted the content, thus not losing control, and he/she provided a link to that content on the DLS. Does this still exist, if so it may be the answer to both points of view.

I think this needs to be clarified again since what has been posted is not entirely correct...

Regarding having these new releases only available from my own web site from now on keeps ME ALONE HAVING CONTROL over these myself, once uploaded to the DLS, I lose ALL rights over my own content I have created with blood, sweat and sometimes tears. Copyright means jack sh!t on the DLS. I alone decide what I want to do with these creations and no one else can do this when only available from my own web site. Just ask David Owen, why....

You are not losing any rights/copyright to your content. Please read the license again, as at no point do you lose any rights/copyright on your content. What you do give, if uploading to the DLS, is a non exclusive license that allows N3V games to use your content in a payware pack (or as built-in content) if required (e.g. if a session requires a traincar that you have created, then it can be included). However, the content will still be available as freeware from the DLS as well.

We can also repair assets that are faulty (and hence don't work as intended...), however we do give you the option to repair these assets first...

As to copyright meaning nothing on the DLS, this is not true, and we have stated this many times. Again, if one of your assets has been uploaded to the Download Station without your permission, then please contact us. As is outlined very clearly in our license, you must have permission to upload content. Content uploaded without permission will be removed from the DLS, so long as you contact us (only the original creator can report the content, and request it be removed). Note, this does not include the DLS clean up, so long as the repaired content is purely an update (e.g. if someone uploads the asset with their own kuid, then it has not been uploaded under the DLS Clean Up).

Regards

Patchy: Certainly - its Standard Gauge Track Old - KUID:45324:38002 unfortunately, its not 'uber' detailed (like the newer types, with LOD and such), and the sleepers are properly modelled as 'realistic' looking sleepers, but throw some weeds around and that, an it 'disguises' it nicely. Also, be mindful, it doesn't like 'reasonably' tight turnouts and such, gets a bit of a nasty kink, but it can work, just got to be a little 'creative'. As for wanting a brushcutter, some goats and such? Nope, I have a weakness for old, forgotten or lightly used branchlines, the weedier and decrepit, the better, and as my good friend Rowdy said on the phone last night (you'll keep Rowdy!) - the 50/25 on THAT sort of track? I don't think so, maybe 30/25 would have been more approproiate - and the cattle siding has been fixed, so its facing the right way :P

Misterchugg: The route was made in TRS2012, the cattle pens have been 'built in' since TRS2004 (I believe!), listed as 'stockyard' under splines, and as Bill mentioned, his QR Eidsvold shed was used, and is freely available on the DLS.

Brown Bomber shunting bombs into Murgon fuel depot

Bombs alright *chuckles* great work as always Patchy, a pleasure to look at, and good to see some QR again :)

*additional* I'd personally have a FJS or something between myself and those bombs whilst shunting, but hey, its a steam train - one leak + hot ash cinder, won't matter if you got a FJS as a 'buffer', right? :P

Mulie Mate great work as usual, give me a few weeks (aka months) and I might send you that file we were talking about. cheers

Was inspired by the other, even more awesome NG style picture on about, oh three pages back now, by Rbar_164. I wish I could make a scene that realistic, looks more like a photograph than a screenshot :) That little 'scene' I produced, brings my PC to its knees, and I don't know *why* I think its the speedtrees and the speedtree weeds, etc, but yeah - wow...uber FPS smackdown....

Some? Noooo - hell no - moar, we need MOAR - mate, that last 'curving' shot, its bloody inspirational, I wish I was 1/10000th as good, and my feeble effort literally makes my PC scream, and surprisingly, its only about '30' m of trees, if that, and some shrubs to 'block the trunks' of said trees, yet it grinds me to a halt - maybe if I got rid of my 'can not use non-DLS items' mentality (wiped over 94gb of Trainz Content the other night), as I want desperately only to use DLS stuff...but won't happen, and wasted all that content for nada I think....
