Hi Vinny,

Don't suppose you have Broad Gauge stuff on that list? I remember as a kid I saw a 930 class in Geelong Loco Depot, I was 3-6 years old when I remember see'ing Green/Yellow NR paint loco's in North Geelong and Geelong.

Cheers.

That is for me to know and for you to find out :p. Are there some of you building routes only in broad gauge?

Cheers

Were the tickets Really that much money in your day?
I kept a score. The 14 day first class rail pass cost $99 in total at Spencer Street country ticket office but the individual first class costs for all trips I did using that pass ticket in that January 1987 time was $465 so I managed a saving of $366. I managed 5015 km on that V/line ticket and used that ticket to reach Albury [R], Dimboola [R], Swan Hill [R], Warrnambool [R&B Ballarat, Skipton, Lismore, Mortlake and home via Geelong], Cobram [R], Hamilton [R&B home via Ararat], Echuca [R & B Murchison East and home via Bendigo], Bairnsdale [R] and Mansfield . Some of that were a combination of Vline buses and trains. B= bus R=rail.

All were day return trips as I had a room at the "Victoria" hotel in Melbourne for $29 a night room only. It was the old style with only a wash basin in the room and common loo and showers down the corridor but I did not care as I was only there at night.

Since I see lots of Puffing Billy material here, I might add that Belgrave Lakeside return was $8.20 and the all day Melbourne suburban ticket to Belgrave was $4.75. 7A my train and passed a train hauled by 14A at Menzies Creek. Safe working was staff in hoop same as V/line. If doing it in Trainz remember the ice cream sold from a hand cart at Menzies Creek platform. 12/1/87.

The ARHS trip Spencer Street to Stony Point Sunday 4/1/87 behind K153 was $22 including a ferry around Western Port Bay and a bus trip around the Mornington Peninsular. For the benefit of those wanting to reproduce this in Trainz, which is why I am providing this material, the steamer came from Newport and I was able to board at Footscray. Had to buy the ticket at a ticket office at Myers in the city as it was too late for mail order. I found out about the trip from a visit to the ARHS Newport museum after I arrived in Melbourne 1/1/87. Yes museum open New Years Day--- lucky for me!

The 14 day train pass did not include suburban travel or historical group such as ARHS and Puffing Billy. The 14 day pass was not available in economy class.

I hope some of this material may inspire you to do bits in Trainz.

Reflection of a Old Boy

Hello Everyone.

Just going to throw my weight behind the argument their not enough Victorian Items, well you guys alest got a good standing in trainz. Sure you guys should be missing a D3, but the rest has been covered, every major class to exist to my knowladge. Aswell as the popular Qld and NSW genre's, which in Qld Case thanks to the likes of myself and others, all major steam locomotive classes have been filled [excluding the crimson beyer garratt].

The focus should be on South Australia, Western Australia & Tasmania, where their is a massive big black pit of nothingness for trainz. For steam modellers in all three states, is very hard enough to find basic and yet acqurate content to represent their state. Speaking as a South Australian, it has been great in the last few years people have stepped up their game and provided some content to keep us free settlers, cricket playing, AFL and coopers ale drinking mob happy. Peter, S301, Jmorty and VinnyBard has done exceptionally well in providing some of the gaps for SAR modellers, and I am keenly working on myself an RX Class and a SAR S Class. There is alot of improvements to still go forth.

Western Australia & Tasmania is a big scene yet to evolve, and its seems the modellers in those states are going to be making an big impact in maybe the 12 months to come, so I say as a veteran of this very thread. We might finally see some action from the Forgotten States.

Watch this space....:D

I think you're forgetting, Pete filled a masive hole where SA steam is concerned... but I'm not talking about content, just pictures of VR, no one seems to be using it :(

Which are proudly working up my SAR layout with a long stream of wagons up the bitter gradient. Reminicant of the climb up the Adelaide Hills.

I might need the help with my Rx Class, which will be a masssive boost to the SAR Community. I will post picture of my layout soon. :D

Btw, their is a texture missing for the 750 class Peter, might be worth correcting it.
