Australian screenshots

Great photos - Love 47's my number one loco - you do know there is no LVRF anymore and they could never run together like that as LVRF became IRA - apart from leasing locos there is no connection between LVR and IRA

Good thing you don't see all the combos that I run, Bearcat.

Nice shots Alco.

A test train consisting of a new VFTY wagon is led by S311 as it rolls through the countryside...

Tom, that's a very handsome looking wagon! It is my understanding that these were also used by Freight Australia? I don't suppose you'd know if any of these were used for log traffic in NSW?

Finally, be interested if anyone knows if there is a Series III X Class model avaliable in FA livery? I've got the Series I (or II) model, but not one with the modern windscreens. Was a PN version made of the Series III X? I know one exists, as I have a V/Line model.

Just looking for more locos to throw on my Western NSW layout, as I understand Freight Australia were heavily involved in fuel and grain traffic.

Thanks Trent :) Unfortunately all of the VFTY wagons were cut down to container wagons (which are still used today by PN, plan on doing these once I'm done wit the log variant). It's sister built off similar plans was the VFNX, which were turned into log wagons and used by FA. Since they're very similar I can do this variant too :)

Don't know how true this is however according to Wiki's Freight Australia page...
Logs: spasmodic traffic from Canberra to Port Kembla.
That PN version your thinking of would be the XR/XRB's ad602000 made, on the DLS :)

Tom :)

P.s. I notice your tall grass is drawn in for along distance away I have my detail on flat out and I get popup of the tall grass.. on my route.. ?? any tips on that..??

i got my draw distance set at 4500m
it might be your dreaded graphic card causing some issues,or the grass you are using

cheers,

Cool what is the tall grass you are using?? so I can compare them together.

I have also noticed something I have been missing when it comes to photo's the location/elevation of the camera at the time of snap is lower on everyone else's an d they look so much better... lesson learned

Tom, you always do good work, so while it'll be a lot of work, I'll be happy to download them when they're done. You know what I'm sayin'? FA container wagons will help with PN traffic too :).

As for the Canberra log traffic, the loading site was just a gravel flat area next to the track in Hume (the railway line is actually the border between NSW and the ACT at that point, so even though the log loading site was in Canberra, the train was in NSW... Good, huh?

As for the PN version, I wasn't aware that such a model existed. I know NSW had two XR's up here for grain work for a short period of time, but I think they were displaced by G and BL class instead, due to crew training (?) issues (why bother trying to train everyone in a new loco class, when you can just duplicate existing classes everyone already knows how to drive?).

So there's an XR avaliable in PN colours, but no actual Series III X? How's about a FA series III X? Either way, I enjoy running my other FA X, I might just take creative license and pinch a few more X's from Victoria for my layout...

How exactly did you arrive at that conclusion, Steve?

Nothing wrong at all with your routes; keep showing them.

Nah, too much 3rd party content in them... maybe I should look into releasing one for you...
