When I get the skin done will pass you copies - will do the mustard to I think -
The compromise is if you do not want buffers you have to put up with the 600 plasted on the nose ....Think if i put the skin on a 45 with buffers we would not have this issue.
Sort of got the idea that DavidO was not to happy of what I did to the 35:hehe: :hehe:

Sorry but a quick question.

In Australia for trains on a long run, with a number of wagons, (Sydney to Melbourne for example) in the days of Steam would it be common to have 2 Steam Loco's joined to haul to the load???

I think I asked that right.

Many thanks,

Craig

In NSW most of the time no - there was some locations were helpers or bankers as they were called pushed from the rear or pilots on the front. Thats why the 60 class and the 57 and 58 were built for the Blue Mountains grades.

On some branch lines it was more common to join smaller locos together instead of a larger loco as not to go over a lines axel load limit. The Camden Line is an example of this.

One thing to note in NSW when steamers were doubled headed both loco powered the train but only the front loco controlled the braking.

Bankers on the rear were mostly not coupled to the train and brake lines not attached.

Thanks Dave,

So if I set up a consist to look real and it had 6-8 Passenger carriages then normally only one suitable Loco would be need on a run like Sydney to Melbourne.

Yes but remember that up until the 1970's there was no Sydney - Melbourne express you had to change at Albury. If it was like Christmas time and there was heavy loading they would often run some Expresses Passenger services with 2 train sets as one service with the second train following close as possible to the first service. Most NSW passenger trains cars were setup as fixed car sets for most trains (HUB/RUB etc). Once again branch and mixed trains were diffrent.

I would like to point out, Bearcat245, that you are in breach of our license and as such I would ask you to please remove your images of the repainted Cardiff Workshops 45/35 class from public display.

And I take your post as an unfriendly and deliberate taunt to try and start an argument.

I think that is a bit harsh, I don't think people post screenies to start an argument. I understand your policy David but to suggest that someone would post screenies to start in argument is a bit over the top.

I think it would have been sufficient to politely ask Bearcat to remove the screenies without suggesting he's starting an argument.

Not having a go at you, I'm just seeing it in a different, non-confrontational way.:D

Hi Colhad,

"OK Davido's going to kill me" .......but posts the screenies anyway IS confrontational to me.
It suggests Bearcat knows what he's doing is against our policy. Doesn't it?

Davido

Maybe it's just Dave thinking that it's an ugly livery and it doesn't deserve to be on such a graceful loco mesh

Very Sorry I was only joking with the your going to kill me line I throught this was all in good fun .

I did not know that there was a must not post a screen shot policy, as there as been so may reskin posted with never a comment.

I have removed the images as requested.

I am sorry that this has got personal, but as I see I am the only person in the history of this thread who has ever been asked to removed reskinned screen shots its the only way to take. I do hope your going to contact all others who have posted screen shots of reskinned locos and they will also be asked to removed the screen shots, to prove this is not a personal attack

Once again I apologise for my actions no offence was intended.

Hi Davido
In future, can I please request that 'requests' such as the above be made privately (either via PM to the poster, or by contacting us using the 'report post' feature so that we can contact the poster for you).

Beartcat, this isn't the first time that Davido has requested screenshots be removed, however most of the time the entire post was removed. It's quite possible they've also disappeared during a post cull of the thread at some point.

For all here, please check the license of the asset before posting screenshots of reskins. If unsure, please drop an email by the creator of the item to find out if they are happy for screenshots of reskins to be posted.
