TGR X4 powers up a hill towards Tugrah with a mixed goods.

This is a project I've been working on for a while, basically following the track plans from the old Don railway. It's not finished yet, and for some reason, I can't get it to look Tasmanian...

Cheers! :)

Jake.

Hey Jake
I think the rails are too far apart :)

I love Tasmania, and I agree, it is different from the mainland too :)

We should keep an ear to the ground and next time Peter C (AD602000) is looking for a job, we could upgrade those old engines to 2010 and put the correct wheels under them. But it would be a complete new build, I think :(
Cheers

G'day Rod!

Yeah... The X Class in Trainz doesn't have the standard 3ft bogie like the real version. :hehe:

Cheers! :)

(replying from work and cant see the screenie Rod) is that a loco I made? TGR is 3'6" isnt it? If I made it and it has standard gauge under it, probably because most people run SG made a couplee of skinny rail TGR things, not much interest never released some of them, a steam powered rail motor springs to mind

cheers

Not proto in any way, but still though I should give Z526 a bit of a run for once :)

The upcoming ZR UltraGrasses look great.
I see my Freeware UltraShrubs are abundant as well. It gives me great pride to see my content used. Thank You.

G'day!

@Pete - The TGR X Class for Trainz was created by someone who goes by the name 'geoff_mcdougall' And yes, Tasmania is either 3ft 6in gauge or 4ft 2in, I think those two are pretty much the same gauge. Tasmania's gauge follows Queensland's gauge.

Cheers! :)

Hey all,

Spent most of the day and night yesterday building a new cab as the old one was causing problems :) , the paint was always showing a slight curve, even when I do flatten mapping and a box mapping to keep it square, the new cab also gave me the ability to shape the windows to the correct size.

Also, the way I made the .PSD makes it easy to do reskins as it's got 4 background layers "which you can show or hide when you save as tga" The Yellow line and V/Line logo is also a separate layer :)

Due'ring the rebuild I also added window frames which can be controlled in the view details

Sadly I couldn't change the fonts in the html part of the script, wanted it to be broadway bt to give it a VR theme.

Hey Pete
What have they done to you at work ;) You will have to talk with Jerka. He is the King of getting around workplace impediments to trainz creativity :)

The Tasmanian stuff was built by Geoff_McDougall for UTC or 2004 and was recently upgraded (by Auran, I think) to a newer version.
Their are two beautiful steam engines available (M or Ma Class in red and green, SG and NG), but I think the main reason TGR never took off was the lack of rolling stock?
If some locals put together some pictures and plans I am sure that could be fixed up over time ;)

Do you still have skype on your machine?
Cheers
Rod

Hi Rod, they block things like Facebook and image shack as illegal sites and they track who tries to access. No I don't have Skype, I'm flat out getting smoke signals to work in win 7. So I have an $1100 doorstop. Getting an xp box so I can go back and do stuff. Haven't done much of late with the new PC and Bill's passing. I need to get back into it. I have made some progress on that project I discussed with you and Aaron and I am slooooowly continuing with that on the laptop. If they had a drawing of the X class bogie I could have a go at making a 3'6" one. It would just be a matter of adjusting onto the att point to get the right placement

somewhere between cairns and the tableland

Scripted roadsigns are now available.

Hi all, I have just uploaded this set of 4 Highway signs, these are scripted and can have up to 5 lines,
Yellow on the top and the rest are in white.

A Big thank you goes to Trainzer "Boat" for providing the script.

Cheers,

Bill.

I found this a long way back in the thread:-

I wonder if we could talk narrowgauge into uploading 2010 versions to the DLS?

Rod, I thought you were a friend!

I have reworked most of the old VR narrow gauge content to bring it up to 3.5 standards but I have no intention of uploading to the DLS. When I do make them available they will be on Trainzone or on my site. Does this foul up their use on an MP route? If so I won't bother yet.

I am currently upgrading all my content on Trainzone so I will need some pretty vigorous grovelling to leave that and work on the latest stuff.

Peter
