I have to agree with mattm. It does get a little annoying seeing the gimme pigs carrying on like lunatics. Davidos 3830s items are and have been worth the wait. Yes he has let out his overhead but there are other items out there that can be used with it. The sky wont fall or the world will not come to an end because the V sets are not ready when you want them. There is a thing you may need to learn Patience. Good things come to those that wait. So learn to be patient like the rest of us and please spare the rest of us the constant request for a release date. If you dont like how long its taking to have them released you could always learn to make them yourself and do it yourself.

Dear, Ghosty, Mattm and everyone else who is getting really annoyed with me. Im sorry for asking about them so much. I looked back at my profile posts, I have asked about 6 times, didnt know that was such an overload. Yet, if someone Like Davido, Zec, or anyone else posts an image, theres about 3 pages saying how great it looks. Didnt meant to sound snappy just then, just cant wait for when there released. I will be leaving the forums for a while, as TRS 2012 is starting to piss me off, as I try to download something, it freezes up and I cant get into it for a few days. Once again, Sorry

Hello everyone,
Thanks for supporting my website and I hope it all works as intended and you all enjoy the content.
The V's are contentious aren't they? I am still considering whether I will try them as payware or not. I guess it will depend on how well the cab turns out and if I consider them worth asking money for them. I am working on the cab now and with the trainz versions seeming to come thick and fast, I get sidetracked .

@c38nsw The catenary gantry's are trackside items so they attach to the track and the wire is a separate spline which gives you a bit of flexibility when placing it.

And a thankyou to Ghosty for his help in testing stuff.

Cheers
Davido

Perhaps offer a "demo" version with cut-down features (ie no cab, one livery, whatever, ) for free, and a payware full-version, with the cab-quality we all know and love, as well as all of the various liveries you've created? I'd certainly grab the payware version, but I understand people out there can't afford/access payware products, typically due to their age (ie being in school).

I really like the idea of "Donationware", where people can access an item for whatever they are willing to pay - any donation will unlock the download. Problem is, this comes back to the problem of people willing to pay for payware, but without the means to do so, due to their age.

As for SARRailways having a sook because they were politely told to pull their head in, comparing people complimenting a great screenshot or model created for Trainz is completely different from making multiple posts asking when something will be released, especially when the answer is always 'when it is ready'. Don't try to make the community out to be the bad guys. We're sorry to hear you're having Trainz problems, there are plenty of people here who can help you fix them, but having a sook and walking off in a huff will hardly help your cause.

Hi Davido,

I'll be happy to pay for payware content, i do already with Jointed Rail and the Occasional RRmods. I am going to contribute a donation for your hard work already :)

Cheers

Catentary

Hi Guys
Just thought I would give some feedback on davido's catenary.
I find it hard to place the catenary with the poles and the wire seperate.

The wire doesnt seem to line up with the track and the pole very well
Though it could be Im not doing it right:confused:

That's the same for me aswell.

Hopefully not no cab...
I think having to pay for extra liveries makes sense.

Maybe, but the Cab would be a thing that takes a lot of time and effort and therefore make it worth the money as payware, there are many default cabs that could be used for a free version.

Davido, Just a suggestion ; the Cab and Extra Liveries should be a Payware Version. ;)

When i had this item to test i found the best way to set them out was lay out the wire first. At each end of the section of wire i matched a overhead posts, from there i then matched the wire to the supports on the post it is not out by much. once you have the wire matched up at each end then all you have to do is go through and line up a overhead post at the required positions along the wire. Also be careful when or if using level crossings (Davidos match correctly.) bridges and tunnels if using the multi track overhead spans as the track spacings may not match up with the overhead.

Thanks for all your hard work, Davido.

Downloading your track and catenary now. I get the following errors on the Ballast, Track and Catenary Wire:

Warning: Required tag 'visible-on-minimap' was missing and has been set to default.

Shouldn't affect anything, but i just wanted to let you know. This is in 2012, by the way.

Matt.

Legendary stuff Davido!

Many, many thanks, mate.

Having taken on the uphill climb from Ashbell. 14 and 7A ease off and head downhill to the bridge.

Oh and fantastic content Davido! Many thanks for the hard work you've put in to making it! :)

Same for me too I think probably Davido might fixed later, just thought should the wire connect catenary with the yellow circle just like the track.

Davido yours website are very nice and I'm pleased. :D

I know Ghosty has mentioned his method but I'll try and explain how I do it.
The gantrys, or poles if you want to call them that, are trackside items so they attach to the track with a certain offset, which I can't remember. They are designed for a track spacing of around 3.8 metres centre to centre.
Once you have the gantry's placed where you want them, drop the wire spline along side the track with vertices adjacent each gantry.
Move the wire spline vertices under the insulator on the gantry and adjust the spline height to match the connections on the gantry and repeat for each gantry.
I didn't like the all-in-one spline approach because the gantry's didn't align properly with the track around curves and although this is a bit tedious to set up, I thought it was a better solution.

Cheers
Davido

PS Thanks again to everyone for your support.
