forest runner, what layout is that in your pictures??

Also has anyone created any sessions on the tweed rail line they would like to share with me?

im stuck trying to work out how to create sessions.

A few more screenies from today's tinkering. Changed a few small things on an already existing rarely used station to more of my liking.

There are two distinct consists for the greasy little worm.

for the Melbourne Grafton Casino and Brisbane services here is your peak period consist.

XP/XFH/XF/XB/XF/XBR/XL/XAM/ XP.

in the periods outside the school holidays they drop an economy car and they are XF or XB cars.

The other consist is the central west xpt which runs as a four car train but can be made up to a 5 car set.

Just set up trains for fruit and vege from just about all major stations as well as meat from Casino and Byron Bay. Timber from Casino and Kyogle as well as dairy from Murwillumbah, Byron Bay, Lismore, Casino and Kyogle.

Inbound don't forget LPG to Lismore as well as flyash [for cement] to the major places.

I wrote the following on the http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=61136&highlight=tweed thread.

Of interest to those wanting to understand the rail traffic flow and the reasons for the two shipping jetties at Byron Bay. The northern jetty at A.W.Anderson & Co's meatworks [cattle size beasts] replaced the jetty in town after storm etc damage. Anderson's also had a whaling station next to their meatworks.

The other meatworks west of the Norco factory in the south end of town and joined to the Norco factory by that private tramway that crossed the standard gauge NSWGR tracks, was mainly used for pig size smallgoods processing by Norco. More about that pig processing works in the ARHS Bulletin Oct 1996 (Vol 47 No. 708) "A research report on the creamery tramway at Byron Bay" (Longworth, Jim) page: 295-298

Jamie,

Nice start. I'd use Boobless Ed's tree's, but then, I can't have SpeedTrees, so what is my opinion worth?:p

As for the XPT, according to Wikipedia:

Typically the XPT operates as a seven-car set consisting of (from Sydney end) XP-XFH-XF-XF-XBR-XL-XP for services on the Central West XPT to Dubbo. All other services have the XAM first class day/nighter car attached to the XL sitting car. Countrylink operate the XAM cars on all services arriving and departing Sydney to/from Melbourne, Brisbane, Grafton and Casino.

@The Usual Suspects, great work as per normal.

Cheers,

Matt

Wikipedias information is a little out. Shots of the Central West Xpt i have seen has shown its been a while since it ran as a 7 car train. Mostly its five cars but has run as low as four cars. I travelled to Steamfest recently and the Xpt was 7 cars but in the quieter times i have seen them run with only 6 cars. I have shots here of a few North Coast Xpts running as both 6 and 7 cars.

Thanks Ghosty and Matt,
I looked on Wikipedia but I thought it was a little off

One more on the curve

Fair enough. I'm not the expert I like to tell people I am, so I can be and will be wrong on occasion.

As a matter of interest, what years would the XPT consists described above be suitable for?

Matt.

On a hot afternoon, the crew of F178 have opened all of the doors and windows to help cool the cab whilst they run a light engine movement along the ZR branchline.

A short time later, F178 is seen powering away from Sometown after performing a quick staff exchange...

Gee, thanks for the birthday wishes everyone :)
Just another day really, work, home, do the chores etc. but all your well-wishes make it a little bit special.

I was hoping to have something ready to celebrate my 56th but unfortunately nothing is quite up to standard yet....
so I guess that means we'll have to wait 'til next birthday :(:hehe:
