Can you download that route?

was thinking .. god that's RED... but then again, 1709 was very RED in the 60's...

BTW in preservation, both 1709 & 1243 were paired with ex P (c32) class 6 wheel tenders.. the tender you have done looks more like the slab sided monstrosity that was a rebuilt D (z16) class tender fitted to some C30T's, and 1904

I've uploaded a shot taken during the celebrations of the electification to campbeltown in 1968 http://www.pbase.com/stanb/image/123223359

according to data sheets, thats the one the 17 class came out with, 1709 has "borrowed so many bits it's not funny.
The maroon colour not happy with it to bright jet doesnt like it, but try finding a good maroon, looks totally different in gmax.

ah well... can always leave it in 1960's signal red... but agree that the coulour is way off the more recent maroon (first painted maroon ~ 1969/70 with its origanal 381 number) then again in 1994 as 1709...

then again black is always a safe option...

Have to agree with your comment about bits tho .. very few locomotives retained many of their original parts over their lifetimes, even those that weren't substantially rebuilt

Hi to those who are of the Content Creator mind :hehe:

Sounds like I want something created :hehe: Just a thought though, while testing a route for one of our members on this thread and looking at a creation last night I had a thought. I know having "thoughts" can be very dangerous but oh well, that's life. Unfortunately due ill health the person I would have approached for this is now longer creating so I thought I would put the idea out here.

There are a number of splines of Rolling Stock that work as Scenery items, they do not even need track to place them on. Wiley4 and Ish6 both created some of these and there are a couple of Aussie ones as well but these are for passenger cars.

I thought it would be great to have some of other passenger cars and also industry ones such as Coal Hoppers, Cattle Wagons, and etc. These then can be used to fill up our yards without (hopefully) to much effect on frame rates.

Just thought I would mention it.

Hi Ron and others,

There where mixed goods splines created but most where based on the US. I had a quick look at what I had and here are a few kuid number if you wish to have a look. Some may still be useful to many.

Auran Boxcar 45203:679

Overlander 45203:701 to 45203:704

Queensland ones 45203:706 to 45203:710

A general look between 45203:679 (thereabouts) and 45203:710/715 will find some more for you to play with.

I am not sure of the ones Ish did, I only had a quick look at what I had. I would imagine his are more for the US though, he is American and Wiley is an Aussie :hehe:

just looked at your pic stan and thats a much more pleasing red. Do you think that was faded and is the colour in the pic accurate?

cheers

the shot was taken on kodachrome, so would have a slight blue cast (and I suspect slightly over exposed and faded slightly: after all it was taken in 1968!)
I think the red was the same as used on the bufferbeams
