LF01 out on track today.

Heard the tour loco calling out of the yard on the radio so grabbed the keys and the camera and headed out

KlaprothLogging.jpg

LF01 reports in at Klaproth Logging Company to see the foreman about requirements for the rail service.

KelsoPicnicGround.jpg

LF01 passes the Kelso Picnic Ground giving the picnicers there a blast from the klaxon and a wave as they go by. This has long been a popular spot for train buffs and spotters as it has access to the local station and is close to the line as well as being a great all round picnic spot for anyone familiar with the local area.

PassingKelso.jpg

LF01 passes through the station at Kelso.

LeaveKelsoTable.jpg

After travelling from Klaproth Logging to Kelso long end leading, the crew decides to turn on the turntable before heading to Windemere. Now facing cab leading they leave the table siding.

PassKelsoGang.jpg

Here LF01 passes the Kelso Track Gang at their hut iving a friendly wave and a pop on the klaxon.

WindemereWarehouse.jpg

Just arrived at Windemere Siding, LF01 trundles up next to the main warehouse...

WindemereFuelDepot.jpg

..then stops at the Fuel Depot to check with the Manager for their service requirements for the start of the rail service.

am dry now. had water trying to force its way through the front door but held it at bay. its the second flood in 6 weeks. at one point we had 150-200mm's fall in 60 minutes for a total of around 600mm for 12 hours.

cheers

Ghosty,

Seeing those photos reminded me of the June long weekend 2 years ago I think when I spent the weekend in Newcastle at my parents and half of the Hunter was under water and blacked out.

Glad to hear that all is okay.

Do you know if the rail line is still cut.

Regards,
Warren.

the line was cleared and returned to service last night. seems there was track damage north of coffs harbour, WB3 Steel freight ran into trouble on tuesday it made grafton but not without incident. everythings running late even the worm. so i guess you can say its business as normal. i just hope we can dry out properly this time, hopefully it wil be several weeks of dry conditions to allow soggy harbour to dry out.

cheers

Nice Shots Tommy - but you'd better make sure the A.F.U.L.E doesn't see 'em - they'll be screaming blue murder over having the 38 behind the garrat!

(Garrats were only ever allowed to pilot another garrat - they had a habit of leaving a very overheated tunnel behind them )

the hoppers behind the 10 class are interactive they are made by ad602000 with assistance from Davido with the load. i am just running them empty.
yeah i used three pictures of caledonia as my base station. so the SMR influence is there.

cheers

Ghosty and Axe - your recent screenshots are so close to reality, it's scary. Thanks for sharing them, you're light years ahead of the game!

V521 groans to a halt a Tooradin with the morning down goods, which includes a pair of vintage fixed wheel passenger cars...

Having picked up some passengers, V521 blasts across the level crossing with it's mixed train.

I haven't managed to play with Ad602000's LCH/CCH's yet - I hope he does the same with the private owner's (Alphbet's) as well - would be nice (most of the shots I have of the SMR seem to be using PO's rather than govt (LCH/CCH) hoppers.

Interestingly enough when the 1992 bushfires hit Richmond main colliery, it was the govt hoppers that seem most flamable - they lost a couple of CCH's ( ignited as soon as an ember or flame went close) but the non airs only recievd minimal damage ( mostly burned bottom doors)

BTW there are a few shots of the SMR uploaded on my pbase site - I've also plenty others mainly from 3246's farewell tour (to Cessnock) and a tour in 1968 to Hepburn

Hi all...... here's some new photos I took whilst visiting Cranbourne station a couple years back...

Here we are looking towards the empty field (to the right) where the recently commissioned stabling sidings now lie.

A current day photo of the scene. A Siemens 6 car set is minutes away from a departure to Flinders St.

I somehow managed to get this great vantage point.....

A tourist special "Push-Pull Set" sits at no 1 platform.

The driver notches up the N class for a memorable departure.

The scene has changed much over the last 2 years!

Cheers!
Ausrail.

Congratulations to Zec on his new Part-Time/Full-Time job, hope it all works out well.

I am not going to say what it is in case he does not want people to know, but soon others will know too :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:
