Australian screenshots

Hello Dylan,
is the layout close to the real thing or fictional based on the real thing. Would you like to take a run on Goonyella Standard Gauge. I have nearly completed from Waitara to the Ports. BTW great shot. Looks like early morning fog on the range.

Hi pha20,

The models in the screenshot are currently unreleased and probably won't be released. Reason being is I've started a new, more detailed and more accurate base for the Clyde family, aim is to have them be payware quality for free! In regards to how long it'll take to complete I can't really give an accurate guess seen I want to get it as accurate as possible, here's a picture of the new model,

Hey Peter,

The layout is a pretty accurate representation of the Mingela range, the full route is Townsville to Charters Towers, so far the range is pretty much the only detailed part of it. The bloke making it has done a ripper job on it but unfortunately it's way down on their project list now. That sounds very interesting! Gauging by the screenshots I can say it looks very good so far! Yeah for sure mate, it'd be a pleasure to help test it, chuck me a PM and we'll work it out from there,

Kindest regards,
Dylan

Now, and then. Photos taken on a recent field trip. Screenshots from my WeddinNSW route (set circa 1970). Some cropping applied to make comparison easier.

The station building has been removed, and weeds in the form of quite large peppercorn trees have now taken over (even growing through the old track).

The station precincts at Canwindra are remarkably well preserved.

The station building was restored by a local Service club a few years back. They did a great job.

Unfortunately, in an attempt to attract tourists, the silo has fairly recently had officially sanctioned graffiti applied. Personally, I would have preferred they had left it in its original magestic state. They could have built a 'big thing' instead (perhaps a giant galah).

FootplatePhil, Those "Now and Then" shots are great! Really shows how you are preserving the memories of the golden days of the railroad. Thanks for posting!

Phil, ... I agree with Forester1's comment.
Displaying the 'Then and Now' screenshots of various sections of Graeme's route, gives it much greater authenticity and shows us 'novices' what we should be looking for in building our routes.

Well done Phil!
Cheers mate,
Roy

Scratchy - love the shot in post #36696.
The detail shown is quite remarkable.
Could you tell me what the station is -
and would you mind posting some extra screenshots of the whole station (a shot looking down would be great too).
Congratulations, and thanks for all the inspiration you have provided over the years.
Happy New Year

Thanks Roy, I think. The shots are of my WeddinNSW route, not Graeme's route.

Great shot Scratchy.

I'm quite fond of silo art, it also brings money into struggling country towns. Guido van helden did the first one in South Australia, Tintinara I think, and it's taken off from there.

Sorry Phil, Both of you produce some great stuff and I am constantly amazed at the quality.
I must have had an 83 year old mental lapse for a split second. lol
Cheers mate, Roy

We might have to agree to disagree on that one ;) When I was a child the silos at Greenethorpe were the tallest, biggest, most awesome thing I knew of. I hope they retain their dignity.

NP Roy. I am flattered that you might confuse my work with Graeme's.

Lol, I was going to say something similar.
Silo art is the only way I can get my wife anywhere near railway infrastructure. :hehe:

Cheers Graeme

Happy New Year everyone, hopefully next year I can release tonnes of new stuff, didn't really do anything throughout the year.

Cheers.
