Australian screenshots

Just a follow up on my 'High-bavale' extension.

I've just tested a 6000tonne coal train with a pair of 90's and an 82. It ran brilliantly both up and down the loop. You only need 50% train brake and first notch application with the throttle at 0 to keep speed under control while descending. It is also possible to pull the train to a dead stop on the grade from 60kph in 2km. Because of this I am considering placing Repeater Signals at the top of the 'Down' loop.

Hi all,
There are some very nice shots being posted in here of late!
Daniel, I like your short north shots... especially Hawkmount and Fassifern.
I've travelled that part of the line many times, but not behind a steam hauled train unfortunately.. I've seen videos (Last Days of Steam) of 38 pacifics and standard goods locos CRAWLING up Hawkmount. Awesome stuff.
I've had a little break from Trainz for a couple weeks, but work has started on my project again. (after purchasing more RAM finally! ;) )
So here are some more shots.... enjoy!

8184 Idles away at Woolgarah as the rain starts to fall.

The south-bound Countrylink explorer service passes a string of wheat hoppers at Haspenvale loop.

Passing at Haspenvale loop.

Starting to rain.

8184 is just about to depart Woolgarah as a light engine movement.

One final shot I took as I walked back to my car.

More soon! Promise.

Cheers!

Ausrail8040, I especially love the disused level crossing, and overgrown track around the 81 Class - very nice work, great stuff :D

A C-17 leads it frieght westward from Chelmer.

Same C-17 continues its journey is about to pass under a pedestrian footbridge between Chelmer and Graceville.

Ausrail8040: 8184? Weren't there only 80 made, and an extra 3 made from spare parts? Meaning that the final number would be 8183?

I could be wrong, but something about the number 8184 seems wrong to me.

Coming along there nicely Ghostryder. Will make a great addition to the network. Hope you're still plodding too chuff.:)

Been fiddling around with a layout, forgotten the name sorry. Been converting it for screenshots of BG trains, and for iportal usage. Have done half the BG yard, and most of the loco depot. An interesting feature of the loco depot is that the turntable sets on the edge of a river, and the line runs right up to the edge ( river is east-west, track north-south). This is the result of loco R727 over running the end...

Surprisingly I found a photo of a real R class that did a similar thing. Actually, it was almost identical to the situation that Gordon got himself into in one of the Thomas stories (The TV show was close, loco runs off turntable into swamp...).

Can't blame Alister for totalling that one Zec!

And Bill goes too all that trouble with his engines, and look what you go and do too them.:hehe: :hehe:

Ah, but this gives me a reason to use that new 'goods' wagon I'm working on... Now, if only the R would fit :P
And now, sleep :P
