That second shot lacks one thing that would make it 'real'. Where is the photographer's shadow. A nice gimmick for someone to make. Only needs a single person- shaped plane.

The photographer was off having a beer. He had the camera pinned to the tree and set it off by remote control. Simple !

I always try to frame my shots from a human point of view. I'll take advantage of a bridge or structure for a higher vantage point, while trying to keep some of it in view. Blue, from a pure screenshot point of view I agree totally about a narrower field of vision, however at times I like to use a wider FOV to show off more of the background as both a proofing tool and to show the progress I am making on the route. In my own photos I normally photoshop my shadow out of the shot.
edit... Just had a thought, people don't cast shadows in Trainz until shadows are set to Ultra :hehe:

I have checked again and again, and they are joined up properly.
If anyone wants to test, I can send the route, PM me with your email.

Talking with Ryan via PM it turns out the trains we'rent been derailed they were been eatten by the portal basic potral
as the porstal basic looks like a section of track ( as sometimes the portal name dont show up ) & i'm thinking he tryed to connect track to the otherside of the portal
his trains on roy's city Circle route are not been eatten by the portals now as i helped ryan to fix the problem he was having with them

The default Auran BR signals are the right shape and appearance to want to take screenshots of and be happy for them to be included in my route. Unfortunately, they are NOT at a standard of graphical detail that would allow them to be uploaded to the DLS, and certainly not at a standard of a modern route's assets.
Anyone know of something that looks similarly prototypical, that has more than the 8 polys I suspect these do?

Great shots Steve. It's always good to see other people's perspective on the same layout,.. and that's how you learn new things. I spent most of my working life in insurance; and it's always amazed me when you have to question witnesses to a car accident. Every one has their own point of view and they see things differently.
