Australian screenshots

I sent the retextured version to bear last night.cheers Pete

I agree about the lettering on the buffers as I have seen many 46 class locos in real life yet I did not notice the small lettering in real life. I was too busy checking out what wagons were part of the train.

Re the metallic dust on the roof; I recall the car carrying motoRail wagons on passenger expresses had in later years a tarp or similar protective covering on the front motor cars on the top deck after complaints from passengers about the metallic dust on their motor cars. Told this or read this as by that stage I had returned to QLD after working in Sydney for a while.

Thanks Pete for the updates :D :D

A couple of shots from Rockhampton. Work on this route has slowed due to making assets for this. I wanted the houses to at least look like they were from the local area.
So have been making over the last couple of years trees and buildings for this route. A couple of new house and a cattle grid latest items finished. Still want to make some 30's gable houses and some 1950's Housing Commissions.

I spy with my little eye a wonderful double deck stock car suitable for small stock such as sheep or pigs. Even is of the 4 wheel not bogie variety. Just the thing for most of the routes I have seen here as screen shots. The window shades are a nice inclusion from real life!!

Bottom line; 46 class painted in reverse tuscan had the date in small lettering in white paint on the top edge of the red buffer beam between the coupler and the drivers side buffer on the #1 end. Builders plate under drivers side window. Drivers side is left side in NSW. All according to caption so the caption had better be right or I am wrong...

Late edit; Two builder's plates; each on side below driver's side window on both ends diagonally opposite each other. Same book P.7.

Updated what I wrote a few days ago as I found a better photo caption in that book. The updated bit is re the builder' plates. One of these 46 class came to Brisbane for repair work at Rocklea in the latter stages of its life. Not sure if it ever got back to NSW.
