Attempting to find lost World of Trainz orders

Does anyone have any idea what email World of Trainz orders used to come through? About six years ago, right before the site closure I ordered the Amtrak P32 from there and after multiple computer changes and many different emails and transfers later, I lost the .exe files that had the gatekeeper, dependencies, and the locomotive itself, and I’m trying to go through all of my emails to find the order email that has the files, but I can’t find the sender name that they came under since World of Trainz as a sender name doesn’t produce much. Any help appreciated, I never got to fully enjoy this unit before Phil shut down the site

I had a GE ES44AC Hybrid locomotive from there back in 2008 and got rid of it when I found out it had missing dependencies which was before I learned how to edit train vehicles. I pretty much moved on from World of Trainz even though three SD70 spartan cabs (old NS, Conrail, and IC) are only available from the DLS since they're originally TRS2006 built-in content.

The P32 can be obtained here if its what you are after.

Thanks, already have those, my concern is the one I purchased from Phil in '14 though, as their startup/shutdown and other advanced functions are a good leg up imo over the JR ones,no disresepct at all to JR, and I liked the new "as-delivered" look of Phil's over the JR one. Just want to know the email that the old gatekeeper and asset .exe files were sent through so I can start scouring all my old computers for the original purchase email.

Do you happen to remember what email sent you the programs that installed the unit and gatekeeper?

I still have all my files sent to me, however they do not work in TANE or TRS19, as the is a script issue that cannot be fixed as it is a gse file, and cannot be edited. And yes they were really good loco's and way ahead of their time. Also the files cannot be shared as Phil wrote your user id into the scripts so there was no sharing of assets. It would be great if some one could repair the script, but I doubt that will ever happen. I still can use them in 2012 but with the TRS19 being as good as it is I rarely use 2012, well just to run Murchison until it is updated for 2019...

Since Phil's domain was worldoftrainz.com I would think the email would have been from that domain.

Do you have the email address that the units came from when you got the .exe files? that could help me look some more for the lost emails just so i can recover the files, broken or not. I ran the P32s once in 2010 EE, I purchased them under a different trainz account for a strange reason that my teenage self thought was a good idea, so naturally gatekeeper auto-derailed them in driver, and since the units took nearly two weeks to get to me, by the time I wanted to reach out about getting a new gatekeeper, Phil had already announced the closure of his site. I think I was one of the last people to order from his site, I think around late February of '14. Its a real shame someone can't get permission from him to update them and host them, they are still exteremely well detailed for Trainz imo

I can only find my emails going to his support emails, which never got responded to, but worldoftrainz brings up nothing in an email search so I thought quite possibly they came from a personal email of some sort

If you lost your loco files, from a site which is now closed, and the creator does not respond via EMail, unless someone is so kind enough to EMail the loco files to you, It would seem that you are completely out of luck.
WOT content doesn’t work like that. They came with a tailored security application so content could not be shared. Don’t know if anyone knows Phil’s email either

I have tried finding him, as he lives just south of me, but I have had no successes, do you know the kuid numbers you are after?

Sorry I don't have a solution - but this sounds very overkill in terms of content protection.

imo it was severely overkill, especially in terms that the installation was pretty painful, and that if you were using the wrong trainz id than the one used to purchase the content, the trains would auto-derail instantly at the start of a session with an error message.

That would be really good to find him, there are too many people that I am sure would love to give him business, but kuid-wise, the wayback machine only has "86105:8220" listed under the add to cart button on the store website so I assume that's it, but of course it would need the said gatekeeper and dependency application to even start with. If I find my old download files i'll know the kuids if i can get them installed into 19, putting them into TS2010 was hard enough at the time.

It still boggles my mind how content like this was considered "so far behind that it would not be viable to update" when they were and still are, besides their script errors and intricate security, rather nice models

I had a bunch of WOT stuff that didn't work because of the whole gatekeeper thing. I edited out the script and replaced it with one from JR to get them to work in 12 but never tried them in TANE.

OK did some testing.. got a WOT loco into TANE. Of course it shows a bunch of errors and the trucks are faulty due to script errors. Deleted the truck script from the config and they seem to work.

Did just this edited my Config and got 2 into 2019 but have one showing no errors but derails straight away.
Will keep trying to work it out

Make sure there is no reference to gatekeeper in the kuid table. Also found I have to delete the old gse script even though the config doesn't call it, Tane still tries to read it and throws an error when it can't

Its awesome seeing that you guys have figured out how to bypass the gatekeeper issue, since that kept me from enjoying these in the first place. This gives me a new sense of hope in trying to find mine again
