Have you ever lost sleep over a Trainz issue?

LOL! YES, I have had recent sleep issues due to Trainz.
I keep seeing config, and texture files in my Mind's Eye and I am editing at them, kind of like a lucid Dream, and I catch on, and say to myself over, and over in my sleep that this is not real, delete delete:oops: go away get out of my head as this has nothing to do with my Trainz in the real world.

And Yes sometime I do get an answer to a issue that I may be having with an asset. (y)
Were not Crazy! Just to addicted to the Trainz Software. LOL!o_O

I'm miffed! The tracks and splines are fine in Surveyor and when editing a session, but when you sit in the cab, they either don't appear or show up in chunks. I found by pressing P to pause quickly when this occurs, the splines draw in quickly. While this is a band-aide for the broken baling wire, we shouldn't have to do it.

I removed bush splines because they were the last thing I added before driving.
Replaced track with different ones
Went from Pro-track to regular track
I tried different graphics settings including lowering the resolution all to no avail.
Precached my data again
Ran an EDBR again and again
Spun around in my chair multiple times while watching for golden sparkles to appear, but that didn't work either.

May be this is due to my very large complex route that is now about 360 km long end to end and was started 20 years ago. It might be time to start over.

Have you ever lost sleep over a Trainz issue/thought? Share the problem? Fix? Still trying to resolve?
I have had a bad issue (ok..good) all of my life of having "things click into place" just before I fall asleep. I then have to wakeup and jot things down on paper or fix the problem. Recently I have been trying to wrap my head around in S20 by reading the forums here, reading the Wiki, checking the discord server and watching video content. Maybe others here will share their "lost sleep" stories/fixes etc? Maybe some think I'm nuts? Lol. Fire away.
Certainly not sleep over an issue as in tossing and turning in bed thinking of a solution to a problem. But as other have said, I do have 'Trainz Syndrome'. You know if you have it if you thinking at bedtime "I'll just finish this little bit more." and then realizing it 2 am. Fortunately, I do have the luxury of regaining that lost sleep in the morning. I am not a rapid adopter of new Trainz technology. I am just now, after several years, becoming comfortable and proficient with S10. S20 scares the bejesus out of me!

S20 is still WIP and it does the same things as S10 in different ways. I find many things the same but clumsy and will quickly jump back and stay in S10 to get the job done as they say. The new features such as multiple baseboard selection, addition and deletion, and the scrapbook are par non and something we asked for decades ago.

But yes, the latter as you saw my response above. Oh, I'll finish up that last thing or two before I go to bed, after Trainzing until it's 2 am only to feel chilled and tired as the sun is coming up and the birds are chirping as those few minutes turned into another few hours.

Being retired myself, it doesn't matter whether I sleep late and get up when I want to a point. I still have pets to feed and medication to take on a schedule but I'll still manage a nap or two in the afternoon when I sit down again at my desk as I think about what I did the night before.

As many people have said, Trainz isn't a game; it is a way of life. You never realize how this program, note it's not called a game here, can consume someone's mind daily unlike anything else we use and do. There isn't a day when I don't think about what I want to do to finish up an area or fix something. When I was working, I'd let my mind wander off into Trainz as I daydreamed during boring meetings then go home in the evening and work on my route after dinner until bedtime, or see something while stuck in traffic and think of a way to incorporate that scene on my route. This occurred countless times over the past 20 years I've been Trainzing and still happens today.

Now, if there is a way to get the AI to cooperate fully and remove the stupid ongoing bugs such as the rendering I'm dealing with right now. We'd all be much happier.

I was on the same page with your routine. Working on my Trainz route in the middle of the night was very peaceful, but sure, I could have been sleeping instead.
I never considered Trainz as a game, but something much deeper. It became a porthole to better times from the past. There was a time in my life that my Trianz route took over my leisurely thoughts, supported by old nostalgic reading materials. Those were happy times for me, but then things changed and pulled me away. Hopefully I can get back in a better frame of mind again .

When I discovered TRS2004, my house was in utter chaos. This constant stress, in the house along with my job and everything else, I found TRS2004 as a way to escape and do something that was fun again and in many ways it has even with the stupid bugs. TRS2004, warts and all, was fun to use and I used that to start a project that has consumed a lot of my time since then. The other versions that followed weren't as fun to me, but perhaps this was due to the new car shine wearing off by that point.

I too never thought of Trainz as a game and more like a gigantic model railroad without the expense and mess. The mess because of the plaster, paint, and sawdust that everyone else complained about when I was working on my real N-scale layout that's now packed into boxes. Being able to bring my model railroad up to real scale easily is was what got me hooked.

You'll get back to your happy place again. A new project and some new reading material will give you that enthusiasm to build a new project. I started one recently for a friend of mine whose grandfather and uncle worked for the New York and Greenwood Lake Railroad. The line disappeared in the early 1930s after a third reservoir was built over the Wanaque River. It's been a slow-moving project as I find pieces of the ROW on Google Earth and then hunt down buildings that will work in that particular area. There are many areas that have been replaced by roads, housing developments and parking lots in addition to a reservoir.

Is this a Chat Room or a train forum?
Apparently out of 34 replies there are only 2 that have an issue with my thread.
I mention Trainz in the thread title and also in 1st sentence as a question. I also mention S20, the forums here, Trainz Wiki and Trainz discord. There are many posts in this thread by people who been involved with Trainz for years, just as you have, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I totally disagree with this post and the other negative post as it is my choice to and your choice to not visit it as well. Please explain why you are calling a thread I started a "Chat Room" as I and I'm sure others are confused as I am.
