ATLS - save to map not taking?

Hi all,

I'm beta testing a friend's route, and encountering a strange error with the ATLS assets that are set up in it. He's got them configured for the level crossings, and is using the naming convention to save the settings to map. However, the triggers and crossing gates don't seem to be 'taking' the map save:

The properties above are what occurs after naming the asset, saving the route, then reloading the route and checking the properties. I have working ATLS crossings on one of my other routes, so I'm just not sure why it's not taking with this one, but did work with the other one. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,
WildNorWester

This is going to sound stupid, but try it anyway:

Set the settings you like, but before saving first move a tree or a house or anything. In other words: Make another type of change so you are sure the save goes over everything.

That was the first thing I tried, to no avail.

Most settings in Trainz (aside from object names) save in the session, not route, so you have to open the session to recover any settings. You can merge the session-layer into the route-layer each time you work on your route, if you want.

Some route-builders prefer to finish the route first for this reason, and then set up the session-related configurations later. Others do a merge every time they finish their work for the evening.

Hi,

The name given to the object in this case (ATLS1[0]) is a syntax designed to save the configuration information to the route - the config is embedded in the name. The ATLS objects interpret this name and set themselves accordingly. In this case, the ATLS components are being used by the route builder to drive a level crossing - hence, it is configuration information that needs to be saved to the route to get the level crossing to work properly.

But, the issue is that for this route, some components aren't interpreting the saved name properly, and I can't figure out why.

Hi wildnorwester,

Correct syntax is ATLS1[0](B) and not ATLS1[0]. The first delimiter is []. The second, for duplicates is (). Difficult to see, I know.

Regards,

Boat
