Asset causes crashes

I don't like to criticise other peoples' work, but I feel obliged to report that LNER A4 Green,<kuid2:193148:1255:2> by Alex23 causes my TC3 to crash to the desktop. I tried to use it once before a while ago (what is a route to Kings Cross without a Mallard??) and I suspected problems, and I just recently tried it again. Same crashes.
Maybe if Alex23 reads this he might try to fix it. I'd like to be able to use it.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Hi Mick,

I am going on memory here so please don't jump on me if I am wrong.
First, I thought the mallard was powder blue not green.
Also I think the problem with that version of the A4 might be the scripting for the cab controls. Alex23 updated these locos so the cab controls would work in TRS2004, I think that might be the reason they won't work in TC3.
I have one working in TS2009 but it is an earlier version, kuid:193148:1255 not the kuid2 version. It does throw up some warnings and it is underpowered but when I get some time I am going to try changing the engine config file for a TS2009 engine config to see if it will perform more like it should.

Cheers,

Hi Mick

I have converted many older locos for use in TC3 and have found that it is usually the old e-spec file that causes the crashes. Have you changed the e-spec for the A3 one used in TC3?

Absolutely correct from my experience. Crashing is usually resolved by changing the enginespec. Some locos may also "not appear" due to either the Interior and/or horn not being available.

Hi. You could well be correct. But Alex23's model was green, no doubt about that. I'm afraid I tend to use the words "Mallard" and "A4" interchangeably which I know is all wrong.

You are correct, the engine spec is likely to be the culprit. I should have thought of that, and will change it.

Thanks everyone,
Mick Berg.
