Article: We've reached the final Kickstarter Stretch Goal!

No, the KS vote doesn't come in handy. This only covers the 4 initial goals. The first stretch goal is still about $50K away.

My bad. No biggie.

This raises a question though. Since N3V is collecting money outside of the KS campaign to accomplish goals set out in the Kickstarter, what happens when funding comes at a late stage where it might pose a difficulty implementing the stretch goal whose financial target has just been hit?

Cheerio,
Nicholas

Tony and crew, congrats with the milestone.
don'tt get distracted now and make this product unforgetable a Real New Ear.(era too);)
Looking forward to the new weather system and PS junctions which i think deserved more attention for people having an eye for detail in yards, sidings etc when shunting and or passing by!

Most important though is for sure for all of us the draw distance to be real this time and not less than 15 to 22 km for realistic scenes.

Wait for testing the first beta version when ready.

best regards all

Roy

I think the answer is in the original post. N3V are soon to stop funding and replace with preorder. Presumably all the stretch goals are out of scope for the initial release.

I could do with one of those Real New Ears...

EDIT: Looks like we've just hit the 2K backers target as well (2,001 backers currently listed, and the possibility of more). N3V may still want to make use of any funds that are still coming in though to help towards future updates of T:ANE so they can happen sooner rather than later.

what an amazing accomplishment, thanks to all backers, smoke affecting objects, prototypical looking track switches with animated switch blades are nice features, the swaying effect for the trains is another nice feature I will be trying out .

What I want to know is, will diesel railcars be able to have realistic hydraulic and mechanical transmissions? Also will diesel engine sounds be tied to RPM instead of throttle position, and will electric motors power down on zero throttle just leaving the faint whine when moving but not powering.

I also advocate for that feature. I miss it very much. In fact, Trainz simulates only electric traction (diesel-electric is the same in traction behavior) until now. But there are a lot of diesel-mechanic and diesel- hydraulic trains around the world. Those was impossible to simulate in Trainz.

Among many improvements...: Will be able to turn down the internal light in the cabin for night running?... Will rain stop while running inside of a tunnel?.. Will we be able to select at what time the headlights illuminate ahead properly? (now is at pass 6:15PM, when it is already dark in certain places of the World). Anyhow this is getting pretty close to perfection..

The show-offy types do realize the success of T2 is in the hands of N3V and not your new supercomputer, right? No point buying a Bugatti Veryon if all you can drive it on is a soggy mud track.
