Article: TS12 SP1 Hotfix 2 now available.

OK - dumb question. Am I suppose to have Auran online when I start the patch to 57720. I took out the firewall and virus checker, but it appears to be hung about 1/2 way through the install. I checked on the task manager and it says that the installer is still working.

Good Afternoon Dbroadie
If you've disabled your firewall and anti-virus then it's generally best to also disconnect your internet from your computer. The update does not require access to the internet.

The update will appear to 'hang' about half way through, however this is due to it processing extremely large files at this time. Due to the size of the update, it may take up to 7-8 hours to install, depending on your computer. In some cases, it may take longer, however the majority of installs appear to be 7-8 hours or less.

Hello Zec,

Perhaps you can enlighten us all with where things are at with the fix(s) to the patch and hotfixes...

It's been a month since the last try at a fix and virtually no information given to us since then.

Good Morning Razor01
At this time, we do not have any further news regarding the next hotfix for TS12 SP1, apart from the fact that it is still being worked on. Until testing is complete on the next hotfix, we will not have an ETA on it's release, as we are still working on it. We are working to have it released as soon as possible.

Hi Zec,

Thanks for the update. So obviously nothing is coming out at the moment but it's just good to hear where things are at, even if it's not a release coming this week or something.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond and encourage you and your team to give us an update each week or so.

Thanks again,
Razor01

May I suggest you revisit this Hotfix? Not so sure you fixed it as per the screenshot provided after a complete extended database repair:

Это нормально для того, чтобы приостановить на полпути - пусть это закончить и не отменить его. Кроме того, Trainz-русский форум может быть лучшим местом, чтобы задать свои вопросы.

Welcome to the forums alpharail. We need more information in order to diagnose that correctly, such as what keeps disappearing, and whether you are running Trainz as administrator if using Windows Vista or later.

@Shane Turner... Hey Shane! NICE NEW LOOKS on your WEBSITES! Kudos dude! :D

Sir it sounds to me, a computer engineer, that are likely running TRS2012 on an older computer without the sorts of graphics support T'12 needs. The software is in need of more and better computer hardware, if I understand correctly given those symptoms. Disappearing objects+data usage 'too high' is an indication that the NEW Graphics Technology and your computer are likely incompatible. At the least you need more RAM, and more likely a much better video card. Did the TrainzDiag test give you any warnings?

I suggest you take the economy 'Easy Fix' and download TRS2009 before buying new hardware. That runs many of Trainz biggest and best layouts fine with my older (2003!) desktop (tower) computer and a mid-price Nvidia GeForce video card. It also runs OK on an older Laptop with a slower microprocessor. You might also try TRS2010 instead, which has a compatibility mode with older Trainz technology, but I'd suggest trying the cheaper older package first, if for no other reason as it's got different bundled software within it, and it has been thoroughly established in older computers. I think N3V would be foolish to stop selling it. Then try the intermediate demands TRS2010 makes on a system as a next step. As you can see here T'09 and T'10 have equal technology levels when you upgrade to TRS2009-SP3. In your case, I'd stop at SP2, so at the version 3.1 technology level. That should be compatible with less capable graphics cards.

The other thing you may have to do is free up computer resources when you run Trainz. Shut everything else down and see what you have for symptoms then. If they improve but still occur, it's a good and strong indication you need a newer and better computer for TRS2012. I live in that 'mode' myself.
Good luck! // Frank
