There is a single Trainz Simulator product on the App Store. v1.1 is a free update to v1.0.

Our main concern is the capabilities of the first-generation iPad. Trainz Simulator is really asking a lot for this kind of hardware, and we don't want to give users a game experience that we're not happy with. That doesn't mean we won't ever do steam- but we're investigating our options carefully rather than just leaping forward with the first idea that comes to mind.
For example, some of the features present in v1.1 were originally slated for the first-generation iPad, but were pulled out at the last moment because we found that the extra memory usage was making the App unstable on the older hardware.

How long do you think until we can get payware content like engines, skins, and routes in the app? That would be awesome!
How do I download the extra content?
I have just upgraded to 1.1.1
I have tried repeatedly to download some of the extra content files. All that happens is the title of the file goes red in the download dialogue window and a retry button appears. Can somebody tell me whether this facility is working ok for them.

I have tried a fresh install of Trainz Simulator 1.1.1 and am seeing the same behaviour. To the best of my knowledge, this is not a problem with the game itself. I'll chase up our server guys to find out what's going on.

The update is now available on the Apple apps library. I downloaded it and it works fine.
I'm having the same problem on my iPad 2, no matter how many times I try; I can't download anything.
Re Thomas content. Ok my 5 y.o. who absolutely loves this keeps asking about Thomas content (we have an iPad 2). I'm guessing the answer is there will be no steam content (therefore no Thomas) as you are worried about iPad 1 being to handle correct? So until ther is another update. no Thomas? By the way guys I think it's phenomenal you can not only make a real time 3D app for an iPad but sell for 99c! Great job.
I am keen to build a route of my own with bridges and tunnels. Can anyone direct me to tutorials for creating this content on the iPad please. I have found several tutorials written by Colin McKinney in 2004 but he keeps referring to Windows keyboard combinations to do things. Is there anything specifically written for the iPad version?

What constitutes an 'existing iPad Planet Auran account'? I am wondering whether it is for people who own another Trainz product with a serial number. And does one have to purchase one of these tickets to download that I have noticed reference to? If so this seems at odds with the publicity surrounding the new trainz for iPad upgrade which states we now have the ability to share user-made content with other users free of charge.
I notice there are already about 17 files that have been uploaded by users. The question occurred to me, who separates the wheat from the chaff? There is soon going to be an unmanageable list of mediocre experiments there that people have to wade through.
I still can't download anything although it says that I have successfully logged in to my Planet Auran account.
