This is where some clear advance advice would have been an idea. You can't use the S&C installer on SP1.
SP1 does not use ja files that's why you have to download the update from within the game, after all the DLC has installed you can delete the DLC only ja files or move them somewhere else, as now they don't do anything in SP1 other than take up disk space. And yes this was extremely annoying and time consuming but the only way you are going to get DLC to work in SP1.
You can also remove the invalid registrations after you have installed the upgraded DLC, as they are not needed or even recognised for the new format, which now live in the UserData/Packages folder in a format somewhat similar to that of the local and original folders.

The upgrade of S&C is worth it as all the additional content from the S&C site seems to have been added and some updates appear to have been done, probably so it works with SP1.

Thank you for your response, clam1952. Yes, after uninstalling everything and reinstalling TS12 patched through to SP1, I was then trying to reinstall S&C and the Duchess Pack from previously saved downloads, using Windows Explorer as the tool. I understand from what you say that the update SP1 needs to be downloaded within the game (and that S&C and the Duchess Pack will then also be downloaded within the game.) I've uninstalled the lot so your advice will be put to good use when I get round to reinstalling it again. There is no other software in the world I would go to such great lengths just to get it to work. Thank you for your help.

OK, all back up and running: As you said, clam1952, I couldn't reinstall S&C and the Duchess Pack manually - the method I had previously used. After having reinstalled TS12 and patched it through to SP1, the payware downloaded sweetly as I got to the Main Menu within the game. Thanks again for your help.

After TS12 patching cannot get Murchison 2 & S&C to show up ?

After TS12 succesful patching (SP1 plus the two hot fixes) I cannot get Murchison 2 & S&C to show up in the routes list. I checked the Options and the licence keys - TS12 says that these are not valid although they are vaild. If I try to renter the keys in Options, TS12 still says that they are nor valid. Elsewhere in these posts I think Shane said that we have to install such add ons from within TS12 - but I cannot figure out how to do that? Please advise me! Many thanks. pdwood.:eek:
 
That is correct - when in-game, click the Get Content button on the main menu then the Re-Download all Purchases button (it may automatically do it for you).

P.S. You may have to cancel the first part for the rest to download then re-do the first part.

Hi Shane, thanks for the info. However, when I open the Get Content, then there is list of "paid" content including Murchison 2, but not S&C. When I go to Murchison 2 it links to the Murchison 2 website where one has to pay for the download. Since I have already paid for it I am not planning to pay again... And since S&C is not there, what to do? Thanks pdw

OK - did that and I now have S&C back again - but not Murchison 2 even though Muchison 2 is listed, and S&C was not! Anything else I can do to retrieve Murchison 2 - the files are on the PC so it all exists, but simply does not show up in the routes... ?? Thanks for Your help - really appreciated! pdw
 
Have you turned off the favourites feature on the Routes menu (that yellow star)?

If you have, check it's not showing as faulty in Content Manager.

I checked the star - no probem there since all routes are showing, but when I checked the CM it seems that the route (add on pack) has not been include after I pateched TS12. I have another copy of Murchison 2 on a separate installation of TS10, so maybe I could copy the Muchison ja file from there into TS12? Strange! What would you advise? pdw
 
The next question would be : where did you purchase it from?

It should be listed in Content Manager though unless it failed to install for some reason.

Purchased directly from Murchinson 2 web site a year or so ago. I still have the CD key fortunately. Actually I still have the installation CD so I Guess I can just reinstall it (I had forgotten I had it! pdw
 
You may find that reinstalling from CD will not help due to the format used in SP1. I would have another go with that re-download option and let it install anything it finds.

AAAgh! You are right - but neither option works! Inside the game it says that all my bought software has been re-installed, but Murchison 2 has not. When I try to reinstall with the CD it does not accept the CD key. Catch 22. pdw
 
Does the Murchinson 2 pack appear in Content Manager? It may appear as a single asset called Murchinson 2.

If it does not, you may also want to raise a ticket with N3V.

No the Murchinson 2 pack does not appear in Content Manager. Strange. I have raised a ticket With N3V, and also written to the Author of Murchison. No response so far.. Many thanks for your help Shane, even if to no avail this time. pdw:confused:

Please ensure that you have registered your Murchison2 pack's serial number in your Planet Auran account. If you have not registered the serial number, then the DLC system will not provide access to the download.

Now why did I not think of that!? It was about the only thing I had not tried but Murchison 2 is now downloading happily.

56k Modems are obsolete there not even standard equipment... they are PCI and u cant buy them anymore in stores and major PC manufacturers stopping using them as standard equipment around the time the 3.5inch Floppy was discontinued... i honestly remember having a a floppy drive and a 56.6k modem back in 2001 and that was... i had T1/Cable and as for my floppy drive it sat unused and the next system i bought did not even have a 56k modem or floppy... those days are over...your talking 20-25yo technology it has no use and is obsolete in today's world... if anyone sitll uses a 56k what provider actually still uses this its a joke. there is not anything u can do on the internet with 56k everything from file size to images are now the 200mb-10gb now what i remember it taking 3 hour to download 25mb file and 20 minutes to download a 3 minute song... i am glad those days are over.. so much cheaper for modern high speed internet you would be fool to try and use 56k if it still even can work... and 56k's usually ran at 28.8/44k they never ran full speed ever
 
OK, fourth attempt to install the Patch again results in failure! Having tried the first day the Patch was released all it did was get half way through and that's where it stayed, just running on the spot. Made Trainz crash when I went to open it so I had to reload from scratch (saved my user data first). I re-downloaded the patch and tried again - same result. Thought my disc drive might be beyond it, so brought another one. Loaded Trainz, re-downloaded the Patch - same result again. Have just tried a different drive - same result. So I am not going to try again. There is nothing wrong with my computer, all systems are fine and are well in advance of what is required to operate Trainz. I even tried disconnecting the internet and anti-Virus checker and turned off the sleep function. The Patch ran all night last night and still only got as far as previous attempts - half way through. When is the auto patch likely to be released, or alternatively, when is Trainz 13 to be released?
