Article: Nickel Plate High Speed Freight Set - Now Available

Here are a few clarifications:
* Patching from TS12 Build 49922 to SP1 Build 58414 is a one step process (download link at: http://www.auran.com/servicepacks/ ).
* New DLC content is created for the latest version since this system protects the content from re-distribution and also serves our largest installed user base.
* Mobile and Mac users will be getting further DLC items. We are a small company servicing a niche market and takes us time to get everything on the list done.
* Serial numbers were required for DLC content prior to SP1 but are not required with the new DRM system. The confusion probably arises from the instructions when installing SP1 that you needed your serial number registered for previous DLC items so that we could issue you the new "no-serial-number-required" SP1 version.
* The reason Zec is saying "we may be releasing an update" is that there has not been an official decision yet. It is the weekend in Australia, and after extensive beta testing, no-one had noticed a missing C on the caboose. We will discuss the options at our production meeting on Monday. (for example; are there other issues that testing didn't identify that also need fixing? Where in the priority list does this fix fall? etc.)
* Regarding "care taken" over the production and testing of this item, I think people are misreading the situation completely. Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious. Mitt Romney managed to release an app with the main screen saying "A better Amercia" http://edition.cnn.com/2012/05/30/tech/mobile/amercia-romney-iphone-app. One train of thought (pardon the pun) is that this was done intentionally to increase awareness. Who knows. Interesting that both mistakes involve the letter 'c'.
To add a little more colour (yes that is how I was taught to spell that word) to the discussion:
"Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteers be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe."

That makes sense Tony, but I can tell you that at this point in time TS12 pre-SP1 still needs to be supported for DLC content as several users are not upgrading to SP1 due to the problems it has caused (and there's a lot of them).

Texture & model wise the locomotives are real nice. The biggest downside is the spelling on the caboose. N3V it pays to beta test!

I'll have to revisit my videos, but the sounds didn't sound like the real NP 765 to me, mind you it's been a while since NKP765 was in my neighborhood, and I could be mis-remebering it. But it just didn't sound quite right to me.

peter

PS: NKP765 is supposed to be black, not blue.
HAHAHAHAHA, still good job on the rendering of the caboose and of everything

Everything else aside, for all the 9 years I have had trainz, this was funny. Nobody seemed to misspell any content creations before. That is so interesting...

Now the window shows up for the auto downloader, it was my password that gave me a lot of problems, but I'm pleased to report that the pack is downloading and being installed.

I'd also point out what kind of good misspelling America did for Mr. Romney, but that would be violating the COC...

Good Morning Benjaminw
The NKP High Speed Freight Set requires Trainz Simulator 12 SP1 or newer, and as such is not compatible with Trainz Simulator 2010 (any service pack), or older.

Regards

the pack works and looks good, but I noticed something re-guarding the front coupler and Firebox door as it seems to be invisible from a distance, and the non weathered version of the s-2 class 2-8-4 seems to be white but are still present, is this normal?

Dear N3V.
You do realise that RSC is to release trainsimulator 2014 (for free for existing users) in September? I am starting to wonder which program has the most game stopping bugs, and which company does listen to it's customers and ADMIT when THEY (sorry, but blaming beta testers for not spotting a livery mistake) are in the wrong. BTW, I also believe RSC is a small company.

Sorry, but if I was paying for a train download, I would at the very least expect the correct research has been done and the correct livery applied. They don't call a lot of train fans "rivet counters" for nothing .

Considering the item was not made by N3V but by Ocemy, who by the way has raised the bar for realism in content by several notches, was a small but glaring mistake, which will most likely get fixed. As for the next release from RSC, it will be the same as previous versions, some cosmetic surgery done with nothing actually fixed under the hood. And secondly, almost everything for failworks is payware and you don't get much for your $. Got suckered into buying a couple of their add-on packs, a total and complete waste of time and money. Ocemy has certainly beaten them at realism with his latest release. As for routes, those from JR and a couple of other route builders are streets ahead of what is available from the other sim.

Download ingame only. start automatic if trainz started. TS12-SP1 requiered. No download-link aviable. i got same prob and wait for download button, lol then send mail to auran. its this way only to get the Download.

The same thing happened with me too.

Wow!! I can't believe all the negative comments. This is a great add-on pack. One thing you have to say is the misspelling has brought a lot of publicity to this product...Hmmm!!

I do agree this the best product created for Trainz to date....Great work!!

David

For the price of this "update" you could could buy 4 copies of Trainz iPad. Stop whining, alot of PC users aren't getting it either.

No need to start a fight now, it's a nice train, you could see why he wants this. However you're right, considering Trainz Mobile is very cheap and that most Trainz content packs cost a lot more.

I've got a Berlington Northern SD60M installed here. :hehe: Says so right on the side of the cab. I can't remember who made it right off hand. (username srs?) It was freeware, though. Nice model otherwise.

Great looking set. When looking through the screenshots there are a few shots of scenery/route. While it's not on the list of content for the pack I just wanted to check if the route is included and the scenery objects. If not what is the name of the route and scenery objects? as they complement the set very well.

SP1 was a one click upgrade process for me.

Great job everyone!

Purchasing now :)
