They're (sadly) awaiting the gas axe, lately DB AG has been decomissioning loads of these, a shame as they've faithfully served the East German rail network for over 30 years. But it seems DB has no liking for Soviet built equipment.

@jjqburch Where is that? Chemnitz? And when were you there? I might've just missed you:p

Location

It is in Sassnitz, Germany. I was passing through there mid summer last year, about June. Yes the whole place was derelict and silent. A train graveyard really. Strange atmosphere. Here's a couple more:

bit of a shame, but its just a mark of another end of an era i suppose.

mind you you could probably pick one of those up real cheap for the front yard now :hehe:
 
For 80000 euro one of them can be yours, but that my friend is just the engine, to get it inspected and have it running again you can easily pay a LOT more.

So far this is my only decent picture of a Ludmilla
