Are you a rail photographer??

Nice shots ex railwayman! BTW in my shot of the 15s the far one (painted dark green) is D8233 , which is currently being restored.See www.d8233.org.uk for reports and other photos. The nearer 15 was torched at Vic Berry"s in 1991....:'(

In 1978 I photographeds these two HSTs passing each other at York. They were known as "Bananas" for obvious reasons or less commonly "Trams"Note the bad oil leak from the original Paxman Valenta engine:o

28 years before JohnChisems Beamish photo , the RPPR ran a tour called the "County Durham Crusader" in May 1979.This travelled along the Consett line via the real (closed) Beamish station.A couple of years later the line was closed, the track ripped up and the bridges demolished to make sure it could never be reopened....madness.

The tram in Portugal looks good, and I bet it was warmer than Beamish when I took my photos!

Well done Bob (Trackplate) the brick sculpture is near Darlington, I think it is quite well done, it's a pity that the smoke/steam is so overpowering as the loco and tender are very good.

LOL BidMod ! Stratford had a long tradition of outshopping locos with grey roofs and red bufferbeams.Another of their specialities was a white waistline stripe.I believe 31019 is preserved as part of the NRM collection.BTW if you have a look at www.d5705.org.uk and read about the Metrovick Co-Bos you"ll find that one example was painted in BR blue with yellow ends while the others were being scrapped and then scrapped about six months later!!!:D

Howdy Lewisner, Stratford put red buffer beams on their Class 47's as well, as is demonstrated by this quick snap of 47 581 at Liverpool St station. Though to be quite honest, I think the lads with the paintbrushes had been in the pub beforehand...:hehe:
