Are there turnout/switch "sizes"

Hi all

Been doing a bit of pre-thinking for when I get my booty and start creating my layouts. When placing a turnout/switch in the track, can you choose it's size? I ask as my real life layouts use specific sizes to get the track in to the available space (they do also serve a specific purpose depending on what industry it is).

Now I know that the are no boundaries in Trainz but I want to (eventually) recreate my layouts for operational practice on the real thing, so having the track lengths and spacing pretty close to real will be a "requirement" as such...

Cheers

There are fixed track turnouts in the default TRS2006 installation. If you would like others, I hear andi06 has some great track pieces on the DLS (if I'm not wrong; I don't download often).

Thanks for that. I checked out what is on the DLS and found a couple the right size. They are Australian track though but will probably do for a start...that is until I figure out how to create my own track.

There are also a number of templates on the DLS which will allow you to make the turnouts of a specific size using any track you choose.

Just do a search for Template.

That's the problem with making turnouts with spline tracks, they do not look realistic enough. What we want are turnouts with proper guard rails, frogs, and the lot.
