Any "Idealized" 1940-1950 Midwest US Routes Available

I'm looking for "smallish" 1940-1950 era small town US routes without the realistic gritty, graffiti-covered, slum-area scenery.

What I have in mind is something like the idealized Bedford Falls in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life".

Can anyone in this forum suggest any routes like this?

Thanks

Wes

Maybe these?

Hmm -- perhaps the closest are (all best watched full screen and HD):

If they be what you are seeking, search the DLS with "philskene" as the author.

Also do the same with the Forums (Advanced Search / Single Content Type / User Name = philskene / Find Threads Started by User) and you will find details about the routes and the sessions for them.

Please tell me if this helps.

Wes (and others with the same question),

I have bad news, good news, bad news, and good news.

The bad news is that I don't know of very many routes that fit what you're looking for.

The good news is that a group of members of the Trainz user community who were looking for some of the same type of material you are, came together about two months or so ago, to establish the Trainz group "Yesterdayz Trainz.

The bad news is that the group is too new to have created much of the type of content you're looking for. We've set some high standards for ourselves, so it will be a while.

The last good news is that you, and any other like minded members of the Trainz communities who are having the same problems you are finding older content for Trainz, and want learn how to do something to correct the situation are welcome to join us by sending an email yesterdayztrainz@comcast.com including the following information:

1.your username
2.your first name only
3.your email address
4.your specialty... [general interest, researcher,] content creator, [route designer, session creator,] repainter, layout designer, and so on. If you are a content creator, say what program you are using for your modeling. If you are joining to learn just put general interest down.
5.your current Trainz versions

Watseka & Kankakee and Indiana Western by MSGSapper. North American Grain Shortline 2013 by neilsmith749. In fact all of Bob's (MSGSapper's) routes are rural in nature with lots to do. The Indiana Western is specifically set up with a 1950's USA environment with great autos and trucks and buses on the roads.

Phil,

Thanks for replying.

The videos (and routes) are awesome in their detail.

I guess I'm more interested in smaller, less urban, areas.

I plan to check out the DLS, searching for philskene routes.

Thanks to all who responded to this thread.

I have routes to investigate and -since I'm retired - time to do so!
