Any idea why Auran's CB&Q SW7 only appears in the CM?

Auran's CB&Q SW7 wont show up outside the CM. Any ideas why?

You're talking about <kuid:-18:1100> SW7 Burlington, yes? I can only validate your observation. I downloaded it to T:ANE SP4 and it does not show up in the train list. I have not tried a DB rebuild. None of the components show faulty and several are in use in other locos that do work. It is built with im meshes and that might have something to do with it. One might try a mesh conversion utility on it and see if that fixes it. It's pretty long in the tooth, dating from 2011.

:B~\

I had this issue in TRS2004, although the SW7 would show up in sessions I could never find it in the Trains list in surveyor or the railyard.

The loco is a Build 1.3 Paintshed asset. This means it's about 18 years old at least and it's an aliased object based on another mesh. You are much better off downloading and installing newer models which are made so much better than this. As mentioned above, those Trainz Forge locomotives are absolutely beautiful and are well worth the effort of downloading them from their website.

Freeware (trainz-forge.com)

Paintshed models have never been really, really good. The concept was nice because it allowed the end-user to create a quick reskin of a stock mesh. In their day, this allowed users to populate routes and upload content to the DLS with many, many road-names and models from around the world, but the application, Paintshed, was awkward to use with a limited number of templates for specific models. By the time TS2010 came along, they were pretty much obsolete, although still supported internally, and the Painshed application was no longer provided or sold soon after.

If you have the models installed, they will work, but not all such as this locomotive due to mesh issues or other reasons for not loading.

I agree with you John about better freeware alternatives. But the reason that Burlington SW7 is hidden in surveyor is because of the "secret 1" tag which hides it from the train list.

OOOOoooh, just like some of the Speed Tree groups! Didn't think about that! Thanks!

:B~)

I whiffed on the tag. I didn't see it when I looked at the config.txt file.

I'll still say there are a whole lot of much better ones up there on the DLS.

I manged to overhaul one pain shed model that still uses the came mesh & texture its the only working model currently in trainz

Nice! I did the same, but for the new user, this might be a bit more than they can handle right now, meaning searching for meshes, and editing a bunch of assets to get what they want.
