Another newbie's questions

Hi all,
Using download helper I downloaded 2 routes - Vic route and Port welshpool- with all their dependencies. Now when I open surveyor they appear on the list of available routes but if I attempt to load them I get the message "You have not selected a map. Return to the menu and select a map". I do not understand this, on the one hand because both were listed as "layouts" when I downloaded them and on the other hand because I have done this exact procedure again with other downloaded layouts and they have always loaded succesfully without ever issuing that message.

And another question: After I have messed around the cabin view with the cursor keys, either looking around the cabin or moving about the driver's eyeposition (using "-freeintcam" in the trainzoptions.txt), is there a way, a key combination, or anything else to reset the cabin view to the default start-up view? (other ofcourse than saving the session, exiting the program and reloading the saved session)
Thank you,
manos

Can I ask what version of Trainz you are using? That sounds like the error you would get in TRS2006 without the service pack when you attempt to load a route created with the service pack. If this is the case, I'd strongly recommend you update to SP1, but make sure you follow the instructions EXACTLY.

Thanks. regarding my first question, I'm using TSR2006. I'll try and install SP1.

P.S. Could please the forum moderator remove the second instance of my post which I accidentally posted twice?

The built number of my TRS2006 installation does not match the version required by SP1. So it's not possible to install SP1 and therefore I guess I have to live with add-ons made only prior to the release of SP1.
Anybody knowing how to restore the cabin view - after I have changed it with the cursor keys- to the default driver's viewpoint without exiting the sim?
Thanks again

Greetings manos,

I think pressing 2, for outside camera, then 1, for inside camera, will reset it, or press the [ or ] keys should toggle you through all the available viewing areas in cab.

Hope this helps,
Lenny

Don't give up. Run TRS2006 and make a note of the build number displayed on its main menu. Post that build number here and there's a good chance someone will be able to give you a link direct to the specific SP1 file you need.

When installing SP1 you need to follow the instructions precisely. It is a truly unique and bizarre procedure but if followed to the letter it does work. The slightest deviation will cause it to fail.

Built number is 2773.
Meanwhile a new question has arisen: Is there a way to convert pre-SP3 content (you know, those executables or zip files that created 4 or 5 folders for each route like "Hiddenvalley" etc) to TRS2006 compatible content?
I really appreciate your help,
manos

SP1 for Build 2773 can be obtained from here
Just to repeat - follow the instructions in every respect. Painful, but necessary.

Sorry, I'll have to pass on the conversion question, I'm not sufficiently sure of my facts.

John

Thanks John, you've been great help.
I couldn't have enough of Trainz back in 2003 and neither I can now.
