Angry Members

My name is Lorin and I'm a Trainzaholic.........:hehe:

I'm in my 30's and I have got 06 and TC working under Vista, but not without some swearing and biting teeth, I have been around since 04, didn't start taking part in the community until 06 version.

If you figure out the tricks, bugs and bull you can use cmp to your advantage, it's a learning curve like anything else.

Now on to the next addict..what is your name and why are you here?:hehe:

Interesting Thread Subject

Fine attitude you two have about young people. If you're under 21, then you are not to be taken seriously. Quite honestly, I've seen kids younger with more savvy than us old timers. When does age influence credibility? I hope you treat your grandchildren better than the younger members here.

I find, and I was one (we all were actually at one time), that new members are frustrated by things they do not understand. I assumed (using new History vocab here:hehe: ) that becuase I didnt have content out, no routes or anything on DLS, that people were ignoring me. I put up a badly made reskin and thought that people were going to respect me, they didnt.

Its not age I think, well part of it is, but more or less how much content you have released and its quality.

If people send out few routes but they are very well done people look up to them. If they send out a bunch, that are very bad, they are hated. Well "hate" is a very strong word, they are not considerd "worthy" for this communtiy.

I'm trying to hurt anybodys feelings here, its just my opinion.

My two cents on this subject.
I know you could turn this back on me, this is from personal experience of my own, being here since March 2006 (give or take a month or so).

Cheers,

Four general things really.

1. Think before you post - irrespective of age.

2. Utilise search functions - chances are if you're experiencing problems, someone else is too. One larger post is easier for the Community AND Auran to follow and provide an education for all. It is also more noticeable if fixes are needed, instead of dribs and drabs in 8 different forums.

3. Read the Announcements Forum. It is there for a purpose. Many users misperceived, misunderstood the whole TC concept, then got agro about it, simply by not reading announcements.

4. If you have a one-on-one issue with a member, use the PM function. This too has a purpose.

It's not like it requires massive effort and things would be more pleasant around here.
