Not at all Chris

There's been a flood of these type posts lately. Nothing against you personally of course, but consider this. Auran has this forum for the benefit of the Trainz Community. A few posters repeatedly start baseless rumors and while Auran graciously allows a lot of latitude in what is posted here, there is a limit when baselees rumors are posted. If you want to know what's going on with Auran, ask Auran please.

Cheers

AJ

I absolutely agree; Auran should be the first source for what's really going on. I just believe that the fact that such uncertainty exists to begin with is what's causing the strain on the community.

My apologies for over-reacting.

Maybe what we need is a post from Auran now & again even if it's only a weekly/fortnightly update on whats happening or not in the world of TRainz.

Hi,

Just to let you all know Trainz. Is doing Fine AURAN DID NOT CLOSE DOWN. one company under the auran group closed down that is all. The DLS and Trainz will continue to run for many years to come.

All the best and remember don't panic Trainz is doing fine

Aidan Millott - Lead Programmer/Co-Producer Trainz Team Auran

LOL It's worth visiting this forum just to see your latest, Ed. :hehe:

TC2005 sounds great, but I am not sure the publishers would go for it.

All silliness aside though, and like Aidan said, a big chunk of Auran has finished, but the small chunk that owns Trainz is doing fine, is recovering quickly from the upheavels and has no plans to leave the genre any time soon.

I am quite certain that at very least there'll be one popularly accepted common ground to come. It was always our intention with TC that there would be in the end, just like it was always our intention to improve the feasibility of the product for the investors.

Glad to see the subject is so close to the heart of so many of you, but I assure you that your fears are at this stage quite unfounded.

Cheers and have fun,

~R~

What more can they say to put the innuendo, rumours and here-say to bed? Where's the uncertainty in these posts?

I wouldn't say I was angry. But it would be good to upload a route to the DLS without having 6 tries before succeeding. And then of course people having trouble downloading it. Also would be nice to download the occasional few items without the hassles. The routes I've uploaded show inbuilt content as custom content on the Download page. Which gives the impression there is more 3rd party content than there is. Would employing one or two extra staffers to see that the DLS is running properly break Auran?

Don't derail the conversation...

:n: Can we stay on topic please? We all have opinions about Auran right now, and we have all heard/read/ignored/posted/reposted the concerns and rumors.

This thread brought up a good point, and what should be a concern for the forum right now: Forum Etiquette. Don't let this thead descend into mindless bickering about the DLS and Auran's finances, 'kay? :)

I know a lot of angry 14 year olds but generally don't take any of them seriously.

:hehe: Ian, my problem is that after going through more than half a century far away from the beginning, I'm afraid I'm not taking anybody seriously except for ninety-niners. :hehe: Old enough and closer to infancy too. ;)

I feel that anger (I do agree with you in this - there has been (is) anger in the air- ) is not clever enough to distinguish age and has been showing off in different ages, sizes and misspellings. Maybe doomsday threads (I second AJ's opinion) is what is helping less to ease anger.

:hehe:I do declare I know what I'm doing today and tomorrow, but I don't what Sunday will bring along. Carpe diem, doomsday can wait, guys.

Anyway, take care.

Even worse Lacker, I've been out of school for thirty years and for every single thing that I do know there are thousands of things that I don't know. It's not the knowledge that counts, it's the learning. :)

When I graduated from college and got my Architect's license, I thought I was the answer for the Architectural world. I quickly learned why they say professionals such as doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers...etc get a license to PRACTICE their profession. Each and every day is a learning experience and the license only gave me the right to go out and make my own mistakes. I'm now semi-retired and I'm still learning. The day one thinks that he/she knows everything is the day before something jumps up and bites them in the a..:hehe:

Hi Guys,
I have to say that there has been a thoroughly measured and balanced response to my thread. I wasn't sure how it would be received.
It did start to wander a little off topic but with a little nudge corrected itself. I have appreciated contributions from all age-groups and really don't have a thing about youngsters at all, whichever 'youngster' band you choose to be identified with. Every reply has been respectful and most of all, interesting and constructive. It really shows what a strong and united community we have - well worth preserving.........

Best Regards to you all,

Thanks once again for such a constructive response,

Ian

AJ, apologies if I was guilty of aiding and abetting 'Going off topic'.I slapped my own wrist hard,on your behalf, and it blooming well hurt.
Ian, I am now going to come in with a bit of pontificating. In my opinion, some of us oldies forget we were just as brash and high spirited when we were in our teens.Fortunately for us,our elders and betters very soon put us in our place, and we learnt from that. The current parents and grandparents seem very loath to chastise and correct the younger generation. Also society in general frowns on anybody, taking corrective action. How are the young supposed to learn what is right and what is wrong. In other words,it is our generation that is largely to blame. So perhaps a bit more understanding of why some of the young behave in the way they do,might help.
Speech over!!

Regards Bruce

Ian,

I must admit, when I entered this thread I was expecting a totally different return then what I received . I have learned alot from this thread, from fellow Trainzers, young and old .
I have a different outlook on what the newer members post, and what the younger age group posts.

I also will be less tolerant of those over 65 who think they know everything, and can not accept us "younger folks", as being able to contribute !

Us older duffs have no friends or social interactions, do not understand text messaging, only Trainz !

---DLR :)

Very true "young man", very true, although it's nice to think that I can interract on this forum with my new found friends, both young and old.....

And Bruce's soap-box pontificating was also very true in context.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
