And another Asset

I created a new product the icon shows up now, and loading/unloading is ok. However, the following errors are shown. How can I fix them & where are the mesh files located? I know the location of the config files. I want to share these files with you guys/gals and I would like them to be error free.

Error: The tag 'mesh' in 'default' must have a mesh file extension.

Error: The tag 'mesh' in container 'default' is empty.

Product

There are two kinds of Products. The "invisible" and the "visible". The invisible do not require a "mesh", i.e. Liquid Loads, Covered Hopper loads, etc.
However, "Visible" products require a mesh. A Mesh is a construct of polygons that are painted to be seen by our eyes, i.e., the Goods Boxes, Lumber, Coils, Steel, etc. Even gondolas have a textured mesh that resembles Coal or Iron Ore or Woodchips that have been dumped into them.

You have created a product that you want others to see. You would have either cloned someone's Mesh into a product, or created your own mesh using Gmax or Blender, etc. Either way, you have not included the mesh object to be seen into your piece of content.

Find the cloned or created mesh file, (which has an extension of .im) and copy it into your work. Then use Content Manager to reference the mesh.

The product is invisible, so what do I do, remove/delete all references to to the mesh? I created the product config file in CMP. When I tried to clone and add my product, the product icon would not display, now the product icon displays but I get the mesh warnings. How to I tell the config file that the product is invisible? Thanks for all of the help.

Product Production...

Start over. Let's begin at square one. You've said your asset will be invisible. So, when you click the "new asset" link, it will bring up a list of 'assets' that can be created. Obviously, you will want to select 'product'.

Now, once CMP has brought up it's screen for the details on your asset, you will need to change the 'product category'. Either 'liquid load' or 'bulk load' in your case, as your product is invisible.

IF the left window pane still shows a mesh object requirement, simply remove it.

All that is left is the statistical requirements for your product.

Ok, good, I've gotten the mesh figured out and the product shows up without any errors. I still have the same problem with the icons not being displayed in CMP or in surveyor. I have cloned a product with the same characteristics as the product I am trying to make. I have yet to see an icon. What am I doing wrong? I have looked in the Content guide and can't find a reference to the icons. Thanks again.
