Industries that work

So I'm taking a deep dive into industries on the Schwaninger Land route. Most of them are this multiple Industry: <kuid2:102376:63033:3>

The asset looks pretty good. Goods can be an input or an output process and can take a defined time to produce. You can create multiple processes. You can add those processes to a queue and add those queues to a loading track.

Unfortunately, when I try to add more than one queue to the loading/unloading track it spits a scripting error. Given it was written for 2.4, that's probably not a bad outcome. But essentially once a queue is empty the industry will never produce another item except for the one first entered into Tracks.

Does anyone else use this asset and have they experienced the same problem? Has anyone found a solution?

Does anyone have any recommendations for industries that work properly?

Jointed Rail has an update to "MIN" or Multiple Industry New.

You'll have to manually replace the industries.

FYI: I've never used the original or looked at the new version so I'm not able to help.

<kuid2:102376:63033:3> is asset build 2.4 which was designed for Trainz 2004 SP4. I have found the same problem with all those older Multi Industry assets.

I am looking at a recent replacement that is on the DLS - <kuid2:45324:400001:8> JR Multi Industry II which is asset build 4.6 (TRS19) but have not yet fully tested it.

I just had a look at other industries in the layout and some have multiple processes in the track. So the asset obviously worked when the route was built. Hopefully that was a TRS22 build. Just not in the current build. The other thing that occurred to me is that it must be just one function in the code that's at fault, Now I don't know GameScript but I believe it is based on C. I don't know C either but my brother tells me it's not a complicated language to learn.

In the meantime I will test your recommendation! Looks like it was John's recommendation as well.

Am playing around with this at the moment and like what I see.

Yeah, I'm reading the thread John linked and it sounds pretty exciting! Today I learned that you can drop rolling stock off and the industry will take care of all the unloading and loading while the loco goes off to do something else!

I want to finish reading the thread because there might be other great tips but the urge to get in and start testing is pretty strong!

Are these not able to be updated using the Bulk Assets Replace functionality I've seen mentioned?
Fixed Track does not work with Bulk Asset Replace. Think about this, how would it work if the track that you are replacing is shorter than the new track? Or you try to replace a fixed curved track with another one that has a different turn radius?

Gotcha.
