Amfleet experiment

If you read my last post, i stated that i had to finish the trucks. So i had to put some shop trucks on for that shot. The pioneer 3 trucks are just about done now.

Them bogies look great. But you didn't exactly say that these bogies where in still being worked on. You just said the bogies were being worked on,which can lead anyone to beleive it was the ones already on it.:p
but none the less its lookin good so far! Keep up the work Corey.
 
By the way are you gonna do both the amfleet 1s and 2s or just the 1s. Either way it looks great, I just thought the 2s would look great with the equally awesome viewliners. I can't wait! No pressure doing 2s just wondering.

About the outside frame, I didn't know about it until I nearly broke it off my Walthers model, when I was like 6 or something. I wonder what t does. (?)

I know, a diner will be good but you could do a current Cardinal consist when the new viewliners are out. I believe it goes as follows:

aem-7/p42dc
Viewliner
Amfleet 2 Lounge
Amfleet 2 Coach (x3)

That would be a possibility but the heritage diner will probably be made at some point. You could have a table seat with a big meal right in front of you. Someone has to start meshing a steak ;)

Where do they run those type of consists? On the NEC?
 
Yes, the lounge is sometimes swapped out with a horizon dinette and there is (on a rare occasions) a 1700 series baggage car. That is the consist between NY and DC and from DC to Chicago a P42 takes over. It used to be longer when half of it split off to Louisville, KY (Kentucky Cardinal) but was discontinued in like 03 or something. Now the Cardinal just runs that conisist. I believe that is Amtrak's shortest long distance consist. It actually used to start in Richmond VA and have a Superliner Consist.

So are the amfleets just gonna be 1s or are they gonna be 2s? Either way I can't wait!!!

Okay, Back from vacation. Anyways.. I plan to do Amfleet II's later on, can't say when though.. But correcting what was said earlier, the metroliners did not run with the 41-CNO style trucks we see on heritage. They used early versions of the GSC trucks used also on the superliner II's, viewliners and horizons. Hopefully i can make some more progress either today or tomorrow. I will also post some consists for you guys in a little bit as well.

not on the DLS maybe, but there are some nice freeware AEM-7s and HHP-8s somewhere. or at least they LOOK nice. haven't downloaded them myself.
