Adding Downloaded Contect!

OK so I got Train Sim for one thing really and that was to mess around with the Reading And Northern stuff that’s out there. Where I live they run behind my back yard. It also helps that I am friends with a couple of the engineers and stuff. So I wanted to "ride the rails". However I can not get the content to load into my Trains. The owner’s manual is sketchy at best and over all I am finding this to be extremely disappointing after spending $30.00 for the program.

I did find SP1 and installed it. I can not though connect to auran's website threw the content manager and I can not find anything I supposedly added to my content.

Unless someone can help me out I fear that I have wasted $30.00 of my hard earned money on a coaster for my desk!

Greatly Annoyed,
RSMEDUDE

Hi ,
First of all, If you have loaded SP1, then go in to options and set it to auto load, this sould bring you up to build 40044, (SP2).

Second,......What type of files are you trying to install.........are they CDP files?

Thanks for the help,

It is enabled and it is downloading updates as I type this...

As far as the files go, I will post a list of what I have and I am trying to use.

Reading & Northern - Phase I.cdp
Reading_Northern_SD40-2.cdp
NSReadingLine2.cdp
RDG GP40-2.cdp
misc4bays.cdp

Hi rsmedude, and welcome to trainz,
First off, this patch may take a while, but don't worry, you'll get used to it!
If all go's well with the patch, then from Launcher, click Content, this will put you into the CM2, form there click the file tab, then click on Import CDPs, and guide the box to your CDP files, where ever you down loaded them to,
You can input them one at a time, or blanket cover them and input as many as you want, but not too many, because theCM2 is not the best at loading large amounts, this will improve, trust me!
There is another way and that is to drag and drop them into the main box on the CM2, Don't use the smaller down load help box for this, it can cause problems.

I’m, off to bed now, it's late.

But don't worry if something go's wrong, there’s plenty of us to help you out what ever the time of day, just give us as many details as you can.

Oww, and one other thing you must register your game with Auran, As the CM2 won't download without it, and press the (all) tab, to see what you have got loaded, and what's on the Download Station.

Good Night,
Jonathan,

OK

I got the update downloaded and install! Boy you were not kidding when you said it would take a while. I have seen updates on the systems here at work take less time LOL.

I got as far as to get the item(s) installed. But now I am missing dependencies! How the heck do I find out which ones I am missing? After that how the heck do I install or add the missing dependencies?

Starting to feel better with getting help but I am really feeling GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR about this program!

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Hi rsmedude,
If every thing is working right, you should be seeing all the content from your game, and all the content from the download station in CM2,
In the main window (Status Area), the laptop icon de-picks, what you have got, and the DC icon, is what's available to download.

Now, missing dependencies.........( Red Puzzle Piece Icon)

Right click, on one of the items showing this icon in the main window, then click (view dependencies), this will bring up a box showing you all the dependencies it needs, and there status, plus there kuid number, the missing ones will have a question mark against them, take note of the kuid number and do a search for it in the CM2, the Auran download station, and Google, also search this forum, in the download station, make sure to tick all the trainz boxes. If all that fails then politely ask us for help,....... good manners go's a long way here!

Have Fun,
Jonathan

I forgot to tell you how to install or, add the missing dependencies.
First of all, anything you want to load from the DS (Download Station) that is showing in your CM2 (Content Manager 2), just drag and drop from the main window into your DH, (Download Helper) window, It’s on the left.
If you download any files from the internet, and they turn out to be just ordinary files, you can drag and drop them into your Main CM2 window or click file/import content, and guide the box to them,

By the way don't worry if there is still some content missing, most times it will work without it,

Above all Have fun....life is too short not to.:)
Jonathan.
